Disturbing Page on Tough Pigs Site

Exactly! They are mocking it with affection. I always laugh out loud when I read their stuff (which is why I usually read it when I'm alone!)

Disturbing Page on Tough Pigs Site

I think one of the guys doing the commentary is Jewish (I believe he says that somewhere). And they were pointing out that Mr. Hooper was the one who ended up saving the day in the Christmas special. So they were actually being complimentary. Their humor is a bit sarcastic, but I don't think...

    Who's smarter- Philo or Gunge?

Most of the time, there's little difference between the two. But in the couple of episodes that focused on them, Gunge is a bit more reckless. He's the first one to wonder when they are going to leave the Trash Heap, and the one who wants to be a big star with the Doozer's. Philo's a bit more...

    Let's talk Doozers

That's true, Mokey's a different sort of Fraggle as well. It's just that Gobo is the leader out of the five main characters and is most often set up as the unusual one. Of course, there are times when Mokey is set up against everyone else.

Disturbing Page on Tough Pigs Site

::shrugs:: I love the commentaries on Tough Pigs, they're hilarious. And often quite on target. You can tell they really like these specials.

    Let's talk Doozers

I always thought the Fraggles were similar to the Hobbits from Lord of the Rings. They live a simple, happy life that works just fine for them. And they have little interest in changing or exploring other places or ways. That's one thing I think you're not supposed to like about Fraggles...

What sketches scared you as a kid?

Placido Flamingo was a little scary looking; he didn't bother me but I can see where your sister was coming from.

Still no The Christmas Toy on region 1 DVD yet???

I feel your pain. I used to watch The Christmas Toy on tape all the time as a kid. It was one of my favorites. But I was also a little afraid of it, the dark hallway shots, the toys freezing etc. So ::gulp:: I taped it over! I still really wish I hadn't done that, even though I was only 5...

It's great that they have the shirt! But yeah the "representing" thing has become stale.

Crashing SWAEHB's party? Now that's not very nice ...especially when that's the RHLC's job! (I think it's even in the Bi-Laws at this point)

What sketches scared you as a kid?

Wow...I've just had an experience... For years, I've had this fear of Butterflies. My parents always told me it was because of a sketch where a Butterfly lands on Grover's nose. I didn't remembered such a sketch, so I figured they must be mistaken. Then the other day I'm searching youtube...

Will Shining Time Station get a DVD release?

Yeah, she played Frenchie in Grease. I didn't notice that until years later. I'm sure George Carlin did a good job, but I grew up with Ringo Starr as Mr. Conductor! I even bought an audio cassette just to hear his voice. "He's a cheeky little engine!" lol

    Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Yup, Life of Brian was about how people misinterpret Jesus' words and religion in general. It was very controversial in its day, but it wasn't really Anti-Christian or anything. I'm glad they used the "Bright Side of Life" song in Spamalot, it's one of Monty Python's best.

So Have We Seen the End of 2-D Animation?

Me too, Fat Albert is awesome! I can't comprehend Hong Kong Phooey though. Some Scooby Doo was good, but only it's most straight forward incarnations, no new characters etc. And yeah, the sitcoms cartoons like Gilligan's Island, just an attempt to make some more money. Anyone see the...
