I agree with all of these. Yes, Skeletor is hilarious in that special!
I want to add a Rankin and Bass cartoon called "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." It's such an underrated special. It was about this human and mouse family that lived in the same house and worked together. One of the...
Great article! Yeah, that stuff about John's subversive activities was greatly exagerrated. It's amazing how threaten some people felt.
While I'm here, I"ll share a link from youtube, of a Beatles cartoon episode:

Very true, The Muppets Go to the Movies is an excellent TV special. But every two seconds they (not so subtly) pipe up with "Watch this scene from our brand new movie, The Great Muppet Caper!" That certainly makes it dated, but it's still watchable. It was both TV special and commerical.
And...
Just wanted to say I'm glad the Sesame Street Christmas Sing-Along album has been included on MC radio. I still have the record at home. I used to listen to it every Christmas, but now I'm afraid to play it in case it gets scratched. So it's great to be able to hear the songs on the web. :)...
I also just watched A Charlie Brown Christmas. I've been feeling a bit down lately. But then I saw good old CB wishing he wasn't so depressed during Christmas. Somehow that made me feel better. :)
I never saw the Christmas episode of Shining Time Station until tonight. It's so sweet, about giving people a chance, even when it's difficult.
Hehe, I love the way you abbreviate things, Kiki. :)
I agree, babies should be supported, not punished for their parents' mistakes. Their lives may turn out better if given the chance to live it.
I don't know the whole situation, but it's often nice to offer people support, even when they have problems.
I also saw it years ago, but thought it was a bit too adult. It went over my head. But seeing it now, I think it's amazing. The music and message is moving. Sometimes you have to take risks in life. And the best one of all:
"Patience, my brothers, and patience, my sons, in that sweet and...
Garfield is awesome!
I just found a Shining Time Station Christmas special and I'm watching it now. It's such a nostaglic trip, especially with Ringo as Mr. Conductor. These specials really help me get into the spirit; they make you feel good and inspired to do good things. :)
I also got...
I remember that one! Is that the one where they visit Jon's parents? It's so funny and sweet. Especially when Garfield sits with the Grandmother.
Grandmother: Garfield, how did you know I needed a kitty on my lap?
Garfield: Wild guess...
I don't deny one point of the special was to advertise the theme park. I just don't dismiss it as just a commerical. It was also a TV special.
The Muppets Take Manhattan could also be seen as a commerical for NYC and Broadway. Nearly every movie and TV special showcases something for money...
It's unfortuante that they dismiss it as baby stuff. Although middle schoolers are at that awkward age where nothing pleases them. I commend you for trying. I wouldn't give up, sometimes it's about finding the right video.
Based on experience, I think it's very difficult to update something...
I'm a big fan of the Christmas specials, if I don't get to watch them, I don't feel like I've celebrated!
My favorites are Charlie Brown, the Grinch (the cartoon, not the movie), Frosty and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Oddly enough, I never saw the Rankin and Bass claymation specials...
Karen's one of the reasons I enjoyed the Fraggle Rock DVD interviews so much. She always has some little bit of trivia to share. You can tell that in addition to working with the Muppets, she's a genuine fan. :excited:
Well, I'm not going to say war is never necessary. Most war is definitely wrong, the Iraq war was a mistake. World War I was a mistake.
But sometimes war is the only way to stop violent people. World War II saved lives. It was necessary, though tragic. There are people in the world right now...
Ok, just started watching it, I think it's perfectly fine! I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I haven't seen the adults in such good form for a long time. I liked it when Mr. Hooper corrected Big Bird on his name, even though Big Bird was talking to himself. And when they were all angry...
