I know I haven't posted as much lately, but my fingers are better for it!
Yeah I was thinking about whether to mention the 'Scooter' Libby trial. I have been making the occasional crack like 'Gonzo' Libby lately, hehe. Though, that's not very nice I guess, he...
Well it wasn't that simple. It wasn't apparent right away how serious his condition was, as I understand it. It seemed like just a really bad cold. A lot of people wouldn't go to the doctor right away for that. (Not that I want to start a debate :) ).
Yes finally someone else likes this clip! Lol I never saw it as a kid, but it reminds me of all the other live action sketches from Sesame Street. They're almost as important to my memory as the Muppets. :)
Well yeah, I can easily imagine the occasional celebrity coming on to the Sesame Street set and being annoying for one of three reasons: They're bitter at having to appear on a kid's show. Their ego is so inflated, they expect everyone to hang on their every wim. Or, the famous one, they don't...
I remember, I hadn't watched Sesame Street in years, and then I checked it out one day and suddenly there's this crazy Calypso theme. I was definitely not happy. It's probably a good song in itself, but to change the theme was just wrong. That was the "jumping the shark" moment.
I can see why you the word "celebrity" had a negative conotation for you, Skye. We tend to think of celebrities as people whose lives are all wrapped up in how famous or wealthy they are. I'm sure not all of them are like that, but even the nice ones can't easily escape the influence of their...
I loved that too, very nicely put! It was pretty admirable of Richard to think of his friends' suffering before his own. And hey, if you can give AIDS a "your face!", other things don't seem as difficult to overcome.
Btw, MuppetNewsgirl, are there any other songs on the James Taylor CD you...
I remember Steve's MC interview, where he said, "When I look back on it, it was about Richard having the last word, really, I think. 'This is what I want you to remember. Not what you’re going to say when I’m gone.' "
When someone dies, it's hard to think about them afterward because it just...
That is awesome, you must have been so shocked to meet them! I've seen some of those youtube clips, very cool. Thanks for sharing. And the kids in the article were so cute. I hope that does inspire Disney to continue creating new attractions. (Now if I could only go there once in my life! Hehe)
All I know is, while I do always eventually manage to deal with things, I spend way too much time worrying. Now sometimes worrying is a good, wise thing to do (some people don't worry enough). But you do have to learn to recognize when it's just holding you back.
I love that song The Muppets...
Actually yes, I was surprised to see he was still working on Sesame Street very close to the end. You don't normally think that's what a person in that situation would do. I think, at least I think, it would be difficult to continue with your normal routine, when you know things are not so...
I got to hear "Lonesome Road" a couple months ago too. I'm not a James Taylor fan, but the song is great, very real emotion. If you just read the lyrics, it could almost be a short story. You end up wondering what could have happened to this person to put them in such a position.
I especially...
I love that one too, very Muppety! I saw Muppets Go to the Movies on TV years ago. It's really funny, especially when they keep plugging their "new" movie, The Great Muppet Caper. (Anyone heard of that one? Hehe)
Interestingly, when I first saw the special, my two favorite parts were when...
Oh, they're showing Trading Places on Comedy Central again, it just started!
I know what you guys mean, you could always pick Richard's voice out in a group song. And it didn't matter how silly and goofy the song might be, it just ended up being fun. ;)
I'll try to recap my memories of...
Wow, the thread's one step away from being the last one on the list...Ahhhhhh!
Hehe anyway, I'll probably be posting a bit less for a few days. Turns out I've been typing a bit too much and my fingers are suffering for it!
But since I'm here for now, and I'm really happy that Muppet Musique...
