Yeah but Jamie, it was a bloated staff that led Henson to have a lot of the problems in the first place. They kept an entire workshop of puppet builders employed for ages when they didn't have any projects to build for. It doesn't stop there either. I know it's very respectable of them, but...
Jamie is right about everything he said, and yeah, those sets in storage and anything else they have would never be of broadcast quality now - TV cameras pick up just about anything right down to a speck of dust. I would NOT want Fraggle Rock to be re-made, and i think i'd probably be against...
Actually yeah, Muppetfest is the one place i could see it selling well. They have around 1,000 to 1,500 people there don't they though ? I doubt they could ever do anything newly sculpted on those small numbers though, let alone a 3 pack. I just don't see them selling that many more through...
Yeah i was wondering about that myself, but they do have Simpsons pens, t-shirts, stationary, alarm clocks and stuff like that. Maybe Warner Bros stores are owned by a different company in the UK and they just bought the name from WB ?
Edit :-
OK, looked it up. In 2001 the Warner Bros UK...
Don't know about Karen or Terry but the attitude at Henson towards doing anything new with the Fraggles has always been pretty unenthusiastic. I can understand why, some 'brand' orientated companies want to go back and revive old things but they never turn out as good as the original, and i...
Well it was a question asked over at the Palisades forum, but ya never know - maybe Ken was trying put people off the scent. It could be for the secret 'Swedish Chef Basement Jacuzzi' add-on !
Fantastic news Jamie - did you mention the action figure 'issues' with Dave ?
I think Dave Goelz is fantastic (*waves to Dave*), he's my favorite Muppeteer by far, such a nice guy and i've never criticised his work (even sticking up for him when that MC 'Hill' article insinuated those...
Brian bought the script from some writer years ago, and yeah it was always mentioned on the licensing sheets as 'in development' upto last year. Also 'Muppet Time Travel' is always mentioned besides it. No idea about the Greg people or them actually developing the script. I guess maybe Henson...
They were in one called 'Action Figure & Collecting' as well, who ran a competition for tons of Muppets stuff but i think went bust before the closing date. I wonder what happened to the prizes ? I entered that !
The article in Memorabilia sounds excellent, can you scan the figure sketches...
From how i understand it, the UK Disney stores are like what the USA stores used to be - lots of collectables and snowglobes, teapots, PVC's, cells, watches, dolls etc etc. They are only now just starting to take it to a more kiddy level. WB stores are great over here too - they always have a...
Re: On the subject of the state of Fraggle puppets:
Thats not suprising. As i said, i don't think the Sesame puppeteers or management were never asked to be a part of the first Muppetfest - Kevin Clash did Elmo basically because he happened to be there as a Henson puppeteer doing Clifford...
The only way to get multiple pack-in's and stuff like that would be an exclusive and i can't really see Mahna Mahna anticipated on the same level as Vacation Pepe and Superhero Scooter. Maybe if it was on the radar for the regular line though you could get one Snowth or a little PVC of them...
Re: Re: One Last Fling
Awwwww i hope some girl felt that about me when i was at school, it's so cute. I have a sneaking suspicion that one did, but every couple of years we still talk on the phone, but she never bothers to call me so it looks like she only lost her senses temporarily...
