Some of his jewelry around his neck, some speakers, microphone, whatever was handy.
I have a fondness for the skit where a woman in a clothing shop (Fran) thought Cookie Monster was a furry blue coat, put him on and walked away. It was an interesting skit because
- he was not the victor in...
I've heard tell that they were referred to as "Frank" and "Stein". On the show itself, I've really only known them to be called "The Two-Headed Monster". I know that Guy Smiley introduced the two-headed monster from Sesame Street.
I like this idea. It seems like fun to dress in a superhero cape and bunny rabbit ears. I'd be interested to know if anyone will "get it", before being explained that it was a Sesame Street character.
Frank played Cookie Monster in some of the Letter of the Day sketches, David Rudman played others. Similarly, Grover was by Frank as the delivery monster, while other times, say as Su-(wait for it!)-per Grover, that was Eric Jacobson.

Also, it's not particularly "little". :)
I know Maurice was also identified by name when Grover was using a queue of monsters to show "first" and "last". Each time Grover was first in line, the monsters would turn round, then Grover would run to the other side to be first, etc. etc.
I guess the writers and performers felt that...
Indeed, there are always other puppeteers for cases like this. If they needed someone to fill in an extra role, like Cookie Monster in "Fuzzy & Blue", they could have used Richard Hunt, Marty Robinson, Fran Brill, maybe even Jim Henson himself. Brian Muehl was also in the cast around the late...
