Imagine you're at a carnival and you are impressed by a magician's act. Now picture another magician doing the exact same act with the exact same props in the exact same manner. Will the performance be different somehow? The Muppets have experienced a similar transformation, only on a much...
That's what they'll probably do, unfortunately. It's easier (and cheaper) for them to do a replacement program and leave it up to the consumer to mail the damaged discs back.
I also find it humorous that Lionsgate states the replacement discs are free.
It's nice to see Lionsgate is taking care of this unfortunate issue.
Can anyone who goes through with this please post the details of their correspondence with Lionsgate? I'm interested to know exactly what steps they take and how they handle it.

Feedback is very important. HIT's latest form e-mail response plainly states they rely on consumer feedback when making release decisions.
If you want Season 4, or are unhappy with the quality of your complete series set, please let HIT know! They need to continue to hear our voices!
Actually, I was figuring it was selling pretty well. Especially when you consider it's $90 (compared to $30 for a season set).
Not only is it the collector's end of things, but HIT should consider how Fraggle consumers may also be present or future parents. People will remember incidents...
Hi Gord, it's nice to see you've made your way over here...
Thanks for clearing up who's responsible for this terrible packaging situation. Do you have Lionsgate's customer service contact info for those who want to exchange damaged goods?
No, that's their customer service number. It should work, but they're sometimes away from the desk, so you have to be diligent.
Let us know what happens...
My gosh, how unexpected.
I would anticipate those episodes showing up at some point, considering how good the archive folks at Henson generally are. It's still surprising to hear that twenty-five year old material (comparatively young) is missing.
I would call HIT and let them know about it: 1-866-405-7625.
It's really disappointing to hear about those scratched discs (especially if half of them fell out). That's much more than one or two - that's ten!
Improperly-housed discs are the primary reason I avoid complete series sets like...
Of course, and they continue to make money from ongoing sales of those individual seasons (which supports the brand).
Every situation is different, but generally a new item needs to sell well to allow for future releases.
Actually, the opposite is more likely true. If it doesn't do well, then we should worry. Franchises are thought of as brands, and if the "brand" doesn't sell, future items are at risk.
Now as for the ranking, I think those are pretty decent numbers considering this set is nearly three times...
