Beautiful Day Monster is a pretty cool monster to have on both The Muppet Show and on Sesame Street. He was only around for the first season of Sesame Street and he was mainly taken out probably due to scaring kids.
His name originates from a sketch on The Ed Sullivan Show that he originally...
Glad to see an appreciation thread for Don Music!!! I love this character. He was great to see when rewriting nursery rhymes (with Kermit's help! :) ) and I remember him banging his head on the piano when he couldn't figure it out. He also had a bust of Beethoven on his piano, like Rowlf...
Well, it'd be really hard to pick out a favorite book since I've been a lifelong reader and I like many books. But I definitely agree with Ziffel. The Bible is my favorite Book and I definitely love the author! :) It's The Book you can read over and over and always find something new.
As...
I don't know if people generally count grouches as monsters (though I kinda think of them in more or less the same category), but I'd say one of the longest running female characters would have to be Grungetta.
Okay, I know who Dr. Nobel Price is now. He's the guy who created "The Six Dollar Man", right? And Kermit came to interview him during a "Sesame Street Newsflash" segment. And when the whole thing fell apart, the inventor remarked, "Well, what do you expect for a lousy six bucks?"
That was...
I like "Dance Myself to Sleep", "Imagination" and Bert's ice skating dream. Those are great ones (and great songs) One of the greatest has to be "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon"!!! I love that song! :-) I also particularly like Ernie and Bert's "Camping Out" sketch (Ernie references...
Yeah, I've often thought that song would be great for teaching literature.
"Burn, baby, burn- Dante's Inferno!"
and speaking of songs teaching literature what about Willa Cather's "My Antonia" to the tune of The Knack's "My Sharona"?
"Muh,Muh,Muh, My Antonia!"
;)

By the way, the #6 episode you have listed, if I'm not mistaken, is one that has Bob making a reference to Rowlf! Do you know for sure if that's true?
Those it's been a while, I definitely remember Maria and Luis getting married and from there I also remember the birth of Gabi. I'm pretty sure I also remember Maria being pregnant throughout a period of episodes. I pretty clearly remember the one about Snuffy's Hawaiian aunt sending the...
That's a tough question. I guess I've always been a fan of the Muppets in general, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I started getting the Muppet movies on video and the Muppet collection grew from there. I guess I started getting into getting more classic Sesame Street and Muppet stuff...
I definitely remember Barkley being as much a part of Sesame Street as anyone else. I do recall that he was (may still be) in the opening and closing credits. I particularly thought some of his best performances was in "Big Bird in China" and "Big Bird in Japan". In fact, he was the only...
There were two separate episodes that C-3P0 and R2-D2 showed up on Sesame Street and I think both were aired in 1979. You can also read a review of these episodes at this site

but be warned, there is some foul language used. I've got a video...
In answer to the question about Bert having a counterpart on The Muppet Show, I think it is worth mentioning that both Bert and Ernie have showed up twice on The Muppet Show themselves. I can kind of see the similarities with Ernie and Lew though I'd never really thought much about it before...
Here's an interesting page about the two Star Wars episodes of Sesame Street (as well as Star Wars' other apperances on TV)

Definitely in the 1980s!!! And I watched it through the most of the 1990s and every now and then when I catch an episode on PBS or on Noggin. (Although with the current ones, I generally tune out about 15 minutes toward the end! :grouchy: I don't hate Elmo, but I can only take so much of...
The book you're talking about has the same story as the sketch with Herry just described.
And Sherlock Hemlock was a great character. I definitely remember the sketch with Bert and Ernie at the beach (I've got the video clip! :p :( ) and the CaveMan Days sketches. Those were great...
