Wow! That was really great, MuppetsRule!
And to Rich, I'm really sorry to hear about the passing of your father. He was a lot of fun on the boards and great to have posting here. May God grant you peace and comfort in this time of grief. :sympathy:
I also like John 14:1-4 and...
We will miss you, Jerry Juhl
Wow! I can't really say that I know Jerry Juhl- only know of him and his work. But it's really saddening to hear that he has passed away. He has been one of the greatest Muppet writers and wrote some of the best and most loved specials that I like- particularly...
Wow! Check out this beautiful autographed lithograph of Super Grover, drawn by Alex Ross!!!! (This so awesome! Alex Ross is a very well known comic books artist, who has mainly done some really great drawings for DC comics- Superman in particular. Or at least I like his Superman drawings in...
I don't know of any other Angus McGonagle appearances (I didn't even know of the ones listed beyond the "Star Wars" episode- cool! I'll have to look for them)
but I do know of an awesomely cool reference to Angus McGonagle's appearance on the "Star Wars" episode. If anyone's ever seen the...
Glad someone brought this up! I've always liked Prairie Dawn and Betty Lou, as they've always been part of the gang. But I have a question regarding the two. I'm pretty sure that Prairie Dawn is the predominant one who shows up now on Sesame Street and Betty Lou pretty much doesn't show up at...
Don't know if anyone's ever seen this before or anything, but in searching through the Internet, I ran across this interesting site. http://www.progressiveboink.com/archive/sesamestreet.html
The guy posting lists his top 25 Sesame Street memories, all of which I remember well. There's some...
As was said, Commodore 64 was a great computer system around in the early 1980s- which had some great video games available.
I believe I've heard of the Kermit Storyteller game for C64 that was mentioned, and I've definitely heard of that Pigs in Space game for Atari 2600. I've seen pictures...
Hey,
I just happened to find a neat site that has some video clips of the PBS and CTW logos from the past years, including the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Check it out at
http://ctwmedia.tripod.com/videos/
Actually, visit the main site at http://ctwmedia.tripod.com as well and there's...
Limewire.com
(It's a peer to peer program like Kazaa, although without the spyware, as near as I can tell. There's tons of great vintage Sesame Street clips floating around on there, including some Monsterpiece Theatre and Grover the Waiter sketches.)
:zany: :)
I think for Sam it'd be The Star Spangled Banner sung by Francis Scott Key!!! After all, he IS Sam the American Eagle!!! :attitude: :attitude: :attitude:
Okay, I know who Willy is now. Actually, I remember Big Bird saying "hi" to him in "Follow That Bird" now that I think about it. Thanks for the quick answer.
:)
I just saw a Sesame Street comic (well, sorta) from Tokyopop at the local comic shop today! :-)
(It wasn't exactly a comic- It was pictures from the show with words pasted in word bubbles on them. It starred Zoey, Elmo and Gabi flying kites.
"Turn, Turn, Turn" is definitely by The Byrds and I'm pretty sure that's the version used in the first episode of The Wonder Years! (which is an awesome 1980s show by the way)
I love the "Turn, Turn, Turn" song mainly because its lyrics are almost totally taken from Ecclesiastes...
jobedo, you sure you're not referring to "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street"? I know the local library will probably have that, but the special Erine81981 is talking about, I highly doubt was released on video. You can see 2 screen captures at "A Muppety Christmas" web site...
Yes, I've seen "Muppet Classic Theatre" a couple times and it's not as bad as some make it out to be. There are a couple of characters who show up that don't always get as used much nowadays, including Robin. Also, Andy and Randy Pig show up prior to their "Muppets Tonight" appearances. Gonzo...
Seems like the Muppets are jumping pretty quickly into another TV-movie after just recently finishing "The Muppets' Wizard of Oz", but I guess that's a good thing. In any case, I don't think you can ever have too many Christmas movies, (coming from a Christmas movie and music lover! :) ) so I...
