Teletoon Upfront 2013, Brand New Inspector Gadget, Renews Johnny Test, Rocket Monkeys, and more

I'll believe new Inspector Gadget when I see it. I've been burned before. And this better the shell come to the US, unlike Gadget and the Gadgetinis when it happens. And seriously... give Johnny Test a rest already. It only had one good season.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Lazy isn't the right term for it. The proper term is "Viewers are Morons." Origin stories are kinda enforced, as not everyone who's going to see these movies are going to pick up comic books or even bother with a Wiki search on the characters. And while there are the comic book characters...

Behold... the New Teen Titans Cartoon...

Aparently the ratings were strong enough to get another season Didn't look that expensive to produce anyway. I'll admit, I've grown to not hate/sort of enjoy the series. The first episode is just the one that sucked. It looks like it was the pilot, as all the other episodes had no title...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

No... everyone knows its going to start off with the same origin we've seen so many times. Like that Cracked article stated, there's too much about Superman that makes him too perfect. Mopey Superman kinda has to be a thing to draw in any drama. Least we forget, Superman came out in the 30's...

Disney buying Lucasfilm, Star Wars Episode VII coming in 2015

I wouldn't want it too groundbreaking. When something like this tries to break ground, chances are the ground collapses around them. Look at the prequel films. We got equal parts how sausage is made and botched political thriller and not enough action. There's a lot of it that could have...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

I saw two this morning, one from a comic book site, and it really seems like everyone's expecting something out of a Superman film that a Superman film can't logically deliver. And of course, the one that wasn't from a comic book site whined about how they make comic book movies period, instead...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Changing the subject. This is what I freaking love... apparently the new Superman movie is already getting disappointing reviews for some reason. Not "this movie is bad" type reviews, just "this is somehow disappointing on the level that it's not up to our fanficky standards." What the frag...

    New Sesame paid-subscription YouTube channel

The issue still stands as thus. Netflix and Hulu Plus... you get to pay a flat rate to watch all the premium show streams from all the different channels. Here, you'd have to pay a subscription to Henson and SW to watch just the both of their stuff. I still don't see why commercials no longer...

    New Sesame paid-subscription YouTube channel

I'm very much on the fence about such an idea. Youtube's player somehow has become absolute garbage that won't let you load videos before watching them, frog help you is you want to rewind and not have to reload everything all over again. But as for Sesame Workshop and trying to get Netflix...

Now what's going on with YouTube?

I don't care how slow someone's connection is, 144p looks like an Atari game. It's fine if they have it, but I don't want it to automatically pop up on every video I have. It kinda sucked when the video upgraded to higher quality when you went into fullscreen... but you could at least turn...

    Worst... Elmo product...EVER

The singing dancing Elmo plush aren't terrible as they make money, and if that money goes back into Sesame Workshop, the more singing Elmos the better. Elmo Live was kinda a bad idea because it's technology the world wasn't ready for (or at least the US... I'm sure a real working Doreamon is...

    Hey Arnold!

And they're STILL pulling that crap. Penguins of Madagascar is no longer in production, and there's at least 3 or 4 episodes and specials they refuse to air.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

I feel sorry for anyone who is in this movie, because they'll be unfairly lumped in with Card's "we're giving him too much credit, he's just an insane ******" political/religious zealotry. Clearly, the filmmakers wanted no part of his views and just wanted to bring his non-fillibuster...

Is Red Fraggle a feminist icon?

The reason why Mokey and Red are great female characters is because they didn't try too hard. Male, female, and any variety of the two ONLY work as characters if they're organic, not forced, and have personalities. I've seen too many Mary Sues and bussed in P.C. characters that fall flat. And...

    Sesame Street Explores National Parks

Yeah. I never understood the "he has to remain silent out of respect" stuff. Other than a grunt in MFS (that we were all insanely happy about at the time) and some very small background thing here and there, he really didn't appear in modern media until that MTV making of special for the...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

No, I'm saying that's how they market them. The film makers go out of their way to give these characters depth and make them hold their own in the films. Even more so in the animated series where available. Jasmine really held her own in that show. But when it comes to toys, they play...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

No one likes working for Disney. But it's hard to feel sorry for the editor that kinda ruined the last film. I'm sure she had pressure from higher ups, but even the filmmakers were kinda annoyed that Tex's origin was sloppily hacked out of the film.

    Sesame Street Explores National Parks

There's a very subtle glottal thing, but as I've said before, getting the personality down trumps sounding like the character. Ryan's doing a great job as Elmo, and it seems that they're not going to scale him back once they run out of Kevin appearances that were taped well in advance. Elmo is...
