Thanks, now I got that song going through my head. I remember that there was more than one of those bits, but they pretty much had the same theme. I can't remember exactly the lyrics are, but I know the tune, and now I can't get it out of my head. AAAAHHHHH!!!!
From what I vaguely remember of this, there were at least two cartoons featuring Muppet characters.
One was Pigs in Space(I think). The other was Kermit & Fozzie(and I think Piggy as well) as some sort of Private Eye service.
From what I remember, the same people who voiced Kermit &...
They were featured regularly on Muppets Tonight, in the sketch "Great Elvis' In History" where they would portray various historical figures(in the Elvis character of course).
Assuming that the reports of the Muppet Show Season sets are true, and that they do well, I'm sure a "Muppets Tonight" set would not be far off, possibly the Jim Henson Hour too.
How about Cookie Monster? I imagine he'd get along with Fraggles well, considering the way they eat Doozer Contructions. Cookie would feel right at home.
Depending on how well TMS does, we may see MT and JHH on DVD as well. We know they will do well, but if they do "extremely well" it will open the door for other Muppet projects to be released on DVD. You notice they waited to see how well the Fraggle Rock DVD did before announcing full season...
This is my concern as well. I would much rather have the original openings. Even if they included at least one as like an easter egg or something, that'd be something. I know the newer opening is visually superior in many respects, but I prefer the original when viewing the first season...
As I recall, he was an unseen character. At least for most of the series. They may have had him show up at some point that I didn't see. Periodically, someone on the street would look up and say "Look! It's Alphabet Ace!" and they would all look up and the shot would change to an airplane...
I loved this sketch, especially the punchline at the end when Cookie finally asks for a book about cookies, which the librarian goes to get, and then Cookie adds "and a glass of milk". In somewhat Bert-fashion, the librarian faints.
One example off the top of my head is when Cookie sings the song where Guy Smiley and company take away his cookies, and at the end when all the cookies are gone, he tries eating some of the crumbs, and he says "Taste great, and less filling too!" which is an obvious reference to the old beer...
Yes, and then Bert leaves and then the martians do appear. They phase through the wall, and Ernie yells to Bert "THE MARTIANS ARE HERE!!!" Bert then calmly asks "if they want any oatmeal".
I remember that one. Ernie and Bert were fighting over who got to sit in the chair to watch TV. Each one tricked the other into getting up and stealing the seat. Finally after much fighting they realized they could both fit in the chair. As they settled in, Herry Monster came in(old style...
The way they're releasing TV shows on DVD lately, it'll probably be released sometime in the near future, depending on who owns the rights to the show.
