I second the person who said "U Really Got a Hold on Me."
Also, the character Lew Zealand in the Muppet Movie scared me as a kid. A big reason why was I though he looked like Ernie gone absolutely insane. The thought of something that looked like a whacked-out Ernie freaked me out.
It was hard to rank a Top Ten because I typically view all the Muppets collectively as my favorite!
1. Animal
2. Kermit
3. Ernie & Bert
4. Grover
5. Cookie Monster
6. Bip Bipadotta
7. Beaker
8. Swedish Chef
9. Fozzie
10. Janice
I have one: On Sesame Street, why did every "professor" character walk into the classroom wearing a graduation cap and gown? For years I thought college professors actually wore that in the classroom every day... or maybe I just chose the wrong college?
They're all really bad but Elmo most of all. AY-EEEEE!
The sad thing is, when my older sister was 3 or 4 she was Big Bird for Halloween, and I think my mom made the costume, and it was adorable... now I cannot ever see Big Bird as a plausible costume option (regardless of target age) ever again.
UGH the stupid Veggie Monster rumor MUST die! I am a senior in college and every time I have a conversation with friends and peers about how Sesame Street is not the same as when we were kids (and I have had a number of them in the last couple of years), someone says something to the effect of...
While searching YouTube for classic Sesame Street clips (particularly those from the '70s), I recently came across one that I had completely forgotten about that scared me: The Ten Commandments of Health. I could listen to the song on my Sesame Street cassette tape, but to watch the Muppets...
Along the same lines of the Rhyming Game, the other day I watched the sketch where Ernie works out to a radio program. After initially thinking it was better to just watch Ernie while he waited for "Pigeons in the News" to come on the radio, Bert ends up liking the jumping bit so much that he...
My niece Tickle Me Elmo Barbie. She got it for Christmas a couple years ago. It had a little plush Elmo and and Elmo outfit. I thought it was cute, but I haven't actually seen that doll in a long time. Who knows what she did with it by now.
Yeah, I suppose Ernie and Rubber Duckie can be compared to Big Bird and Radar, or Betty Lou and her doll (whose head kept falling off LOL), or Elmo and his blanket and doll David.
I love Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. My mom made a tape of Christmas specials and cartoons from TV for my older sister when she was little, and CESS is the first one on there. We watched that tape, especially Sesame Street, every year (multiple times) at Christmastime. It's my link to the...
Oh wow. This sounds so funny. Unfortunately I've never seen Ben Stiller on Sesame Street, but the thought of Ben dressing like cheese reminds me of Bob dressing up as a banana.
I watched this movie over and over as a kid! Some of my favorite moments:
*Bob maps out the routes everyone should take and then asks if there are any questions. Oscar says, "What is the capital of South Dakota?", and everyone groans. :grouchy: And when everyone is confused by a place being...
Oh goodness. I read the topic of this thread and thought someone was going to suggest Elmo's World being a series by itself, LOL. That would make me pull my hair out.
I think I like Telly better, too. He makes me think of how my mom used to say my sister was just like Telly when she was little. She worried about everything.
I like Elmo, Rosita, Two-Headed Monster, Cookie, Grover, Frazzle (I think that's his name-- the orange guy that talks in nonsense?), and Monster Clubhouse. (I think MC is cute and fun, but I don't like it that it basically became another Elmo's World to fill up a chunk of time. But the monsters...
