    Muppets References in Daily Life!

When I was in 5th grade we were taking a spelling test and for that particular test my teacher decided to start reading the number of the word we were on like he was The Count, voice included. In my head I can still hear him saying, "Twenty-one... Ah-ha-ha!"

Does anybody like these old books?

I'm pretty sure "Sweet Pickles" is the only one I remember.

    Broken Arm plots

It was on in the '90s because I remember it from when I was little and I don't really remember anything from Sesame prior to about 1993.

    Hugga Wugga

LOL. Well, I was never afraid of Hugga Wugga, either. I also don't remember seeing it as a child, so that probably helps.

    Sesame Street Live Knockoff

That Elmo dance in the first video was a little freaky.

What sketches scared you as a kid?

But again, that one wasn't on Sesame Street....

Why are Elmo, Zoe, Rosita and Baby Bear so annoying to classic SS fans?

I like Rosita, though it took me a couple of years to understand the concept of a bilingual character. IMO the annoying thing about Zoe is her laugh. Otherwise she's okay. I have never been able to stand Baby Bear because of his manner of speaking (to put it politely). I don't necessarily think...

    The Count

This thread just reminds me of how scared I was of the Count when I was little. *shudder*

    Your signature-explain yourselves!

My signature now, for those who don't recognize it, is a tribute to my favorite scene in Follow That Bird. :grouchy:

What Muppet are you in the mood for?

Most days I'm in an "AN-I-MAL! AN-I-MAL! Ahahahaha!" mood. :halo:

Twenty years since we lost Jim Henson

I was very young as well- a couple weeks shy of 3 years old. My parents told me about what had happened to Jim starting when I was early elementary age. It has only been in the last couple of years that the tragedy of such a loss has truly hit me.

    The RHLC!

LOL I love those kinds of Richard stories!

The Post-Hooper Generation: Your Thoughts on the Man Behind the Store

I knew about Mr. Hooper because of our recorded-off-of-TV copy of "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street" that my older sister and I would watch every year at Christmas time from as far back as I can remember. And I read the book that was based on the episode that explained his death. Otherwise, until...

What TV series seasons do you have on DVD?

I don't have much. I have Grey's Anatomy Season 1, which was my mom's. And I have seasons 4, 5 and 8 of Friends. My goal is to eventually add Sesame Street and Muppet show DVDs-- my sister has a leg up on me and bought Muppet Show season 2.

Bert and Ernie Gay Rumor: Settled

My thoughts exactly. It got old a while ago.:p

Things I learned from Jim Henson

It's always a good idea to hope that something better comes along.
  17. HeyButtahfly

What was the last DVD you bought and why?

Godspell. I was on Thanksgiving break with my boyfriend's family and I spotted it in a store in Des Moines. I'd been looking for it for a while to no avail so I jumped at the chance. It's one of my favorite musicals ever.

Which Muppet are You Most Like

Annie Sue Pig. It seems like every time I've thought it was my time to shine, there's always been a larger-than-life girl who stepped in front of me and hogged (pardon the pun) the spotlight for herself. I've never gotten to be a Miss Piggy, for better or worse.

It's Official... They Ran Out of Ideas...

Ahahaha! Better yet, make it a movie about the Slinky Dog, like a Toy Story spin-off!
