I was thinking the other day about how amusing I find the nicknames Oscar has had for other Muppets as well as humans throughout the course of Sesame Street. :grouchy:
Bob - Tenor Tonsils
Luis- Mr. Bad Wrench
Maria- Skinny
Big Bird- Turkey
Elmo- Pink Face (one of my personal favorites)
Are...
Ok I just HAVE to share this. For the longest time, because of Richard, I've been dying for the chance to use "Your Face!" as a comeback in a real-life setting. Tonight it finally happened! I stood up for my friend and told the girl who was teasing her, "YOUR FACE!" and the girl looked and me...
Or Stewie's Sesame Street phone. In one episode he pressed the :super:button (the letter G and the number 4 are wonderful), and told Grover he refused to speak to :insatiable: until he got out of rehab... Another time he was in the front yard burning the phone.
Hugga Wugga-- especially the "You Are My Sunshine" part. But it probably helps that I don't remember having seen it as a child so it's never really creeped me out.
No, I agree. I still think Elmo clinging to Snuffy's snuffle to keep him from leaving in the episode where the adults meet Snuffy is quite cute. As well as the episode where Elmo gets his doll and names it David...
On that same episode with Elmo's doll David, it was cute when Snuffy went to...
I know he's an accomplished artist and all but I've never been a fan of Aaron Neville's voice or his singing style. IMO all of his runs and yodeling took away from the simplicity of the song... I think that's why I loved the original version in the first place: it was Ernie quietly and simply...
I remember his brief appearance in the "Sing Yourself Silly" VHS, where he was supposed to say, "Now that was silly" said, "Now that was Sassafras! No... Umm, I forget! Do you know the word?"
I remember a few episodes with Elmo from when I was younger (ah the 90s- when Elmo slowly carried out his plan for world television domination). One was when his friend from Albuquerque was coming and so he ran around Sesame Street yelling, "Albuquerque! Albuquerque! Albuquerque!"
There was one...
My signature is a quote from Zac Hanson, the drummer/singer from the band Hanson... I know nothing about the history behind it, but it has made a lot of people I know laugh.
Well, as you all can see I joined Muppet Central back in May of 2007. I didn't know a lot of specifics about Jim Henson or the other puppeteers or who did which characters and whatnot (in the last year or so Muppet Wiki has been amazing!). Short version of what happened was a few weeks after I...
Oscar appears on "Ze Grouchy Chef":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zrki8jepUzk
One of my favorite parts is when David leans forward in his chair and starts yelling at Oscar and the chef, Olivia looks like she's starting to tell him he's yelling at a TV, then David finally realizes it himself...
Oh I just remembered another one- Kermit explains the word "round" with a small pink ball: "And a ball can sing Tip-toe... through the tulips! Tip-toe... through the tulips!"
These are the ones I'm coming up with off the top of my head:
The little girl Joey singing "A-B-C-D-E-F-COOKIE MONSTER!" and Kermit's reaction.
Sesame Street Newsflash with Pinocchio- "I'm a thousand billion years old and I can lick Superman!" And the Newsflashes where Elmo decides he can...
I remember my mom telling me when I was little that she thought Gonzo was a bird. For a while I believed it.
...And I've always thought of Animal as a monster. In the most extreme sense-- definitely not a domestic monster. :halo:
I can't believe I spent so much time completing this. (I blame a lot of it on my lack of knowledge on which characters a lot of the puppeteers below performed. Thank you Muppet Wiki!)
Favorite Muppet(s)? My top favorites are Kermit, Animal, and Ernie and Bert
Favorite Muppet Movie? Follow That...
One of my top LEAST favorites is Baby Bear. And I don't hate Zoe but I remember her annoying me within a short amount of time when I was a kid (I was 6 or 7 when she and BB both debuted).
