Making duplicate copies of the same puppets are usually good for durability. That and to maintain and give them TLC occassionally... unless you wanted the puppets to have the least amount of mainteance (sp?)
Wow a Spanish Muppet Christmas Carol! That should be weird to hear...
Check ebay. I know theres some MCC soundtrack cds available on .co.uk which I'm after ;-)
Aha! Hair spray! Didn't think of that... now I feel stupid...
Not showering with my puppets? What are you talking about? Are you mad? That's a silly thing to do...
*returns to shower*
Speaking of wigs... I'm trying to style fur into a certain hair style... into a point... or even a parting... with fur. Not an actual wig or anything. But synthetic fur? I tried heating the hair up and styling it with the end of my hot glue gun but it got hairy!!!
Any ideas?
David.

OR it could be... Dorothy takes a trip to the Muppet Theatre to watch the Muppet Show, later, bangs her head and ends up dreaming she is Dorothy in Oz...? And the Muppets take the role of each of the characters...?
Ooooh mistakes! I make enough of those so here goes:
> Hot glueing fur to a head rather than sewing and covering. Its starting to come off now! :-(
> Again, covering hand in hot glue!!!
> Rushing puppet building (curse these deadlines!) rather than taking my time!
> Putting dye and...
Anti-pill fleece... now I can shed some light on that one... don't use it is my advise really. It doesnt hide seems at all, then again I did use a sewing machine with it. But I'm sure if you sewed it as though you were sewing antron fleece then maybe it would work.
It shows up imperfections...
Has anyone any idea how to fashion hair styles with fur? ala Rod from Avenue Q or any other muppet/puppet with fashioned hair?
I've tried use the end of my hot glue gun to heat the hair up to fashion but I end up with hair ends on my gun.
Any ideas?
Yes! I remember Rainbow! It was excellent when I was small... i remember watching that Christmas special over and over again.
My favourite is Zippy! Teehee.
Update: December 1st 2004
Right, well, after a long time of buying materials, doing test heads and cutting fur, I have finally finished (well last Tuesday I finished) a "portrait puppet" of my boss, Sean.
This is my first puppet involving antron fleece, which I am getting quite good at...
Puke? I meant punk... for some reason I always read it as PukeNpuppets!!!

There is a download at this site http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=siggraph&collectionid=at140_22_the_book_of_pooh of a montage of clips, which even include before 'n' after shots of the...
Actually! There is a brilliant video that can be downloaded from Archive.org. Its a brilliant montage of clips from "Book of Pooh" and they do include before and after shots of the puppeteers for the excellent puppets.
Here's the page url...
I like the idea.
I'm tempted to give puppet building and selling 'em off a go. Seems good money. But I'm sure what I end up selling the puppets for will pretty much cover their material costing... cropping into an issue which has been covered here many times before.
I'd love to do it! Time...
