I've always had a tendency to gravitate toward the more unappreciated member of a fictional group; Donatello (TMNT), Geordi Laforge (ST: TNG), Nightcrawler of the X-men (though basically any X-men member who isn't Wolverine is unappreciated). All these characters are essential members of their...
I always thought John Denver and the Muppets- A Christmas Together was an album, not a tv special. I'll have to watch the tv special, I thought Denver did a great job of hosting TMS.
My Goodness, this is amazing. While I was watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I kept hoping there would be a Muppets float, what with the release of the new movie and all, but alas it never happened. But this float is just as good as anything the Macy's parade could do!
Yeah, it's a toss up between The Muppets and The Muppet Movie for me too. In the end though, I had to vote for The Muppet Movie; I remember it fondly from my youth, and "Can You Picture That" may be my all time favorite Muppet song. It's so groovy:sing:!
I've heard different stories. According to Muppet Wiki, Christopher Reeve was friends with Jim Henson even before he hosted TMS, and even performed one of the polevaulters in the Bob Hope episode. In another story, JH, Carol Spinney and Spinney's wife approach Liza Minnelli in a restaurant...
Yeah, watching Muppets is a great way to lift your spirits when you're down. Unless it's Muppets Wizard of Oz, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas, or Muppets From Space, which would only depress me more, personally:sigh:.
Here's my fav Muppet from each JH project I've seen, or can recall at the moment-
The Muppets- Kermit and Scooter, tie
Fraggle Rock- Boober
Sesame Street- Bert
Labyrinth- Sir Didymus
Dark Crystal- Augra
I just saw Scooter's rendition of "Six String Orchestra" from episode 417, and I loved it. It was great seeing Scooter playing up on stage with the Electric Mayhem, even if it was just in his imagination. Scooter rarely has his own musical numbers, but the few he's done are some of my favorite...
My brother owns MFC on DVD, and my sister has been showing it to her daughter (who's 1) nonstop, along with the 2 Elmo Christmas specials. Seems like her favorite is Fozzy.
My pics-
Six String Samurai- In a post-apocalyptic 1960's Nevada, "The King (Elvis)" has died in "Lost" Vegas, and Buddy (obviously meant to be Buddy Holly), a guitar plucking samurai, intends to make his way across the desert to fill the void left by the rock-and-roll king. On the way, he has...
I'm glad you liked my idea. Maybe if the Henson Company or Disney or whoever gets word of it, they'll make it and give me a fat check, and I can spend all the money on plastic surgery to make me actually look like a Muppet:crazy:.
I wish James Rolfe, the Angry Video Game Nerd, would do a video...
I've had my eye on the Kermit statue. According to the Disney online store it's sold out. I think they have the best deals on it on eBay, so I'll try there when I get the money. I want to get 1 piece of high-end Muppets merchandise (statues, busts, original art, rare ornaments, etc.), but I...
Hmm... Sims was a good game, it's hard to imagine how exactly the format would be adapted to the Muppets, but I sort of get the idea. Maybe, like in the Sims franchise (I'm talking Sim City, Roller Coster, etc., not just "The Sims") you could build and customize to your liking. You could...
I had a similar idea, where you're the Muppets' new gofer (Scooter's been promoted) and you have to go around doing different missions (i.e. going on scavenger hunts to find props for performers, helping Bunsen & Beaker stop rampaging Muppet Labs inventions) to make the show run smoothly. Some...
I've never played the Muppets GMC game or knew it existed until reading about it here. There seems to be no gameplay footage on the web, but from what I saw on Muppets Wiki it's a standard GBC side scrolling adventure game. It seems odd the playable characters are Kermit and Animal, I mean of...
On a side note, I just watched episode 410 of the original series, and one of the subplots is that J.P. Grosse is letting Arabs drill for oil on the Muppet studio property. I wonder if Segel and Stoller had this episode in mind when they wrote the movie? Maybe J.P. will appear in the follow-up...
Just watched MTI for the 1st time since I was a kid. More recently, I considered it one of the worst Muppet films, but after rewatching it I have to say it was quite entertaining. I think it's hurt by the fact that it isn't an "original" Muppet movie, like MCC, but unlike MCC not everybody knows...
Just flipped through footage of Muppet Monster Adventure for PS1 on Youtube. I'd seen it before, but I forgot all about it. The Muppet gang go to a haunted castle Honeydew inherited, only to be turned into familiar monsters (Honeydew as the Phantom of the Opera, Piggy as the Bride of...
I thought GMC had a lot of the best jokes of all the Muppet movies. Like The Muppets, it has jokes both kids and adults will get. I loved the gags in the Happiness Hotel and the Doubone Club, like when Gonzo asks a couple if they want a souvenir photo, only to find the man's wife is at home:).
