There are some really great shots in there. Also some really good examples of where the leaning forward thing would really help. I can't help thinking of Frank Oz cracking "Kermit the Duck" in that video.
Here is Jim demonstrating.
Correctly Angled...
I've seen some pretty terrible photos of the Kermit Replica out there - most on the MR site. I've also seen a ton of really great photos (mostly from people here). I did a lot of experimenting, and thought I would pass on advice to everyone else, and see if people had other ideas to help.

As much as I love my Kermit, I would give him back in a heartbeat if we could still have Jim still around...
On the positive side of things, recent photos of Fozzie are making me reconsider my earlier comments about "No Fozzie without Gonzo..."
There are some really talented puppet-makers on...
Yup.
Ironically, if they hadn't billed these as "replicas" (and if they weren't charging several hundred dollars), I would probably be excited by this large posable stuffed Gonzo.
However, looking at the photos of Kermit around my parents house at Christmas, it looks like the Frog himself was...
I remember seeing this type of dicussion for the Palisades figures when they first started and I was thinking "This is a ridiculous thread, there is NO WAY there will ever be a Dr. Phil Van Neuter action figure, you guys are crazy..."
So I will bite my tongue this time.
As with the Palisades...
Bad Gonzo means no Fozzie for me
Been a long time since I've posted, but my recent acquisition of a Kermit Replica has brought back a lot of my enthusiasm for my old favorites, and I feel very strongly about this whole Gonzo issue...
Sadly, money does not grow on trees, so I can't go nuts for...
Jim Hill lives in a strange little fantasy world...
About the only valid point here is the general concept that the Muppets do their best as a pack of underdogs.
But the idea that Disney should cast their company as the bad-guy in the Muppets world? You'd think that someone who spends...
Hightlights of this for me are:
This is the first I've read about Disney's actual intentions on how to use the Muppets. I'm glad to hear they have their feet firmly on the ground and are aware of what makes the Muppets special.
It's good to hear they're not just going to stick them...
Guess I take the phrase "who will serve as understudies to core Muppets performers" coupled with "and service the growing international demands for the classic characters" to mean that when Kermit needs to show up at a Borders Books And Music in London, they could just send the understudy...
My sister went to see the film. Not an ongoing Muppet fan, she nevertheless has an appreciation for them bred by years of watching the movies when we were kids, and a continued love for/tolerence of her brother...
Anyhow, her comments were:
- It was like a bad made-for-TV movie with...
Interesting little bit there. One of the things that has always made the Muppets connect with me is a (mostly) consistent personality for each character - especially in unscripted appearences - so it's a little worrying to have multiple people taking over a single character. However, much of the...
The occassional innuendo is cool, but it was the staple of this bit. It just got old IMHO. Seems like there must be other facets of Pepe's personality worth exploring...
Still, fun to watch!
As I said, Steve is awesome. Just in my mind Jim is "the" Kermit, and others may someday see Steve as "the" Kermit.
On a related note, I'm really hoping that Disney maintains the puppeteer-puppet relationship. The muppeteer brings so much personality to the character, and if you had...
Strange thought occurred to me last night.
There are some people watching the Muppets today who will look back in later years and say they prefer Steve's Kermit to Jim's... Like people who prefer Roger Moore to Sean Connery, only worse...
Not meaning to insult to Mr. Whitmire - he's a...
Tickets?
Anyone know if you can buy day passes or something? At $11 a movie, it could end up costing a lot...
My sister just moved to Brooklyn, so I'm trying ot convince her to go! :)

Finally realized today that Disney owning Kermit is not really what bothers me - it's Henson NOT having him that does. Ripping the Henson logo away from Kermit's face is really, really sad.

Haven't had a chance to see MV3D yet... it's high on the list, but guess this means I'll have to push for a Disney trip soon....
Has anyone here seen it at both the Florida and California parks? Are they identical? Well, beyond the film bit, obviously...

While there are a million comments to be made on this, I will just say that it's nice to see Jim Hill on top of all things Muppet as usual... oh wait...
So much for me being clever....
I guess I feel satisifed with my fill of Palisades Muppet figures, and while the idea of Sesame Street sounds good, these don't warrant the expense or shelf-space.
Not that they're bad, they're just not good enough tohook me. If they were awesome I'd buy...
