I was like that as a kid, I didn't understand some of the stuff I watched but somehow I still loved it, and in a way that encouraged my imagination. Maybe that's why some experts say it's better for very young kids to watch grown up shows rather than overly flashy kids shows.

That's really great! I always say the idea that kids today don't appreciate the classic stuff is a myth and oversimplification. And you're right, it's great when kids see unfamilar things and are encouraged to ask questions. :)

Well I think it was just that he was a singer and maybe hadn't done as much acting. He was also with the Muppets on The Tonight Show and he did a great job just being himself. :) Idk, I just love his Muppet verison of "When I Need You." Hehe!
