MWO had "tributes" (if you want to call it that, rather than kinda swiping from) to the MGM film and The Wiz, and supposedly it was true to the book in some places. Then again, Wizard of Oz lives eternally in the shadow of of the 1939 MGM movie that any adaption other than it...even ones that...
Actually, I kinda wish they'd put some segment with one of Jerry's characters in it, old or new (most likely new)... but then again, we got new segments instead of a bunch of reruns, so I can't complain.
The more I think about it (and let's not forget that they had one of Jerry's characters...
They didn't really let him do much, and he was shoved at the end... but you've got to love how enthusiastic the little kids were... even if that Spider-Man kid thought he was Oscar.
I Barely get it. I barely understand that it's the reference The Tick villain"El Seed" is making.
Hey, Ed... just wondering if you thought the fact that they referenced Telly's impersonation of the Count as "Ed Count" was a weird co-incidence.
I just picked up IDW's Bebop and Rocksteady spotlight issue. I always did like the characters (yet didn't miss them in 2K3), but I honestly feel the writers just liked writing for dumb guys instead of keeping their initial appearances as kinda stupid, but a genuine threat. Lots of wasted...
There's another thread for the tribute, so I'll just cut to the not sadly beautiful moments of the show.
If Hank Azaria doesn't do any of those Muppet impersonations on upcoming Simpsons episodes, it's a real loss. Still... "Big Bird in China? Won't Grover get lonely? Naw, he's with Derek...
Lemme say this. As someone who just cannot get through the Jim Henson tribute past the Marching Accountant Society bit, I get pretty emotional during these things and hope that there's a lot more yukks than tearful moments. This episode was absolutely wacky and funny, and I had a ball with...
That's the problem. Either she sounds different, or there's a huge chasm that has to be filled by another character. Something us Muppet fans should know.
Best thing they can do is reduce her to an offscreen character and have the relationship with Ned still on, just... well... like Marris...
Freakin' heck, man. Can't you Christmas advertisements wait until freaking November 1st?!?! I mean really. I've seen, like, what... like 4 Halloween commercials, 2 of them were recycled (Kit Kat and M&M's... reused all the way back in the full frame TV days), and then there's that AT&T or...
When the heck did they do that, as it's always been the exact same theme song since the show's beginning? I've seen every episode up until the ones that don't start until 2 weeks, and the only change I've seen was the opening being reanimated to fit the widescreen picture. The Simpsons changed...
Sad thing is... it's an improvement. And sadder thing is, Disney can totally use the same old Henson era stock photos if it wants to...
Pepper shirt Gonzo and MTM DVD covers abound!
It's relatively new clip art, actually. Clip art they've actually made with the posers, versus the old 1990's stock pictures we all hate. That's essentially the only credit I give them for. It's not bad for what it is, but it's not that great either. Then again, why the heck aren't they...
Well, it seems they're going to do the "respectful" thing and retire the character.
Pfft. Best of luck with that. No matter what they do, they're going to look like jerks whatever they do to Ned. As far as Bart's teacher goes... are they just going to come up with a Replacement Scrappy, or...
No, because teaser posters are usually even lamer than regular posters. I'd say a Teaser poster would possibly be that Kermitified M with a "2014" under it against the white plain backdrop.
I hope other theater promotional stuff is more inspired. Like little wanted posters of the characters...
I can never get that darn thing to play without going to Sesame Street's main menu. Even then, the link I had from another thread has all the videos but this one.
Clip converter had to have changed in the last couple days. They still had all the options Sunday. Now the thing I'm currently working on might be ruined, but I was going to use mostly recycled footage anyway.
