I agree with you about the Hensonville and all that. Not that games aren't a valuable part of the forum .. but the site really needs to get back to being Muppet news and discussion first, and games second. I think it'd make for a much better atmosphere if there wasn't so much emphasis on them...
From how I understand it, there is some kind of internal regrouping of the Muppets licensing going on ... it's not they have "dropped the ball". They need to get things nailed for the movie release so it's not an opportunity thats wasted (especially with the movie getting a prime release spot...
Yes, it says a lot people who weren't actually around much end up in the categories. There was a good reason why the last person gave it up. You do #6 of em, and it's all the same really. That said, it's always good to see people putting effort into anything as long as it's just taken the...
That being said, he could NEVER do anything with the name "Moppetz" other than make a few youtubes. Any reasonable person would confuse that - and in trademark law it sounds exactly like Muppets. If he has ambition, he's keeping himself back right there as he could never use it professionally...
Totally applaud you trying and I understand the whole Mopkins thing but you admit yourself Moppetz sounds like Muppets. Unfortunately one of the tests of trademark infringement is actually whether one name SOUNDS like the other ... so it would probably not be even worth you even attempting to...
Well its a different ballgame. Toy fair events are for licensees (ie. Mindstyle, eFX etc) showing product to retailers and the press. Brand licensing events are for the licensors (ie Disney, Henson) showing projects and brands to potential licensees .. so i doubt this time last year all the...
That's the last one though. The products only appear at Toyfair when they want to sell them on to retailers and take orders (and that would be for this year) so we will see now what they have been planning.
Disney was focusing on The Muppets at Brand Licensing this year. That is another...
UK Toy Fair is in late January, it is usually the first indication of what products will come out during the year worldwide, so we are weeks away from seeing what movie merch is going to happen. US toy fair happens shortly after.
I think what with the movie and Disney's retailing, large plushies will happen sooner rather than later. I can't honestly see Disney sitting back and making nothing for its stores.
I really loved the poser line. Not sure how long their license lasts but if it goes for a year or so after the...
That is now on the NBC studio tour I believe
Obviously if in LA, definitely check out Chaplin Studios in La Brea .. Muppet movie been filming there, maybe the sign is even still up
Yeah they copied that from Ken Lilly (and later Travis) at Palisades, he was the first person I think who ever really got the whole listening and interacting thing right. Sure he got some flack for it at first, but then he also made it a two way street giving back to the collectors of the line...
It costs quite a lot of money to get an accurate looking "Muppet" replica. I'm not even quite sure exactly the quality Pepe you would get from a private puppet maker for $600 ... Pepe's one of the more complex ones so i'm guessing it wouldn't have been anywhere near being actually "Pepe"...
Andi's right - some of the prices are way out of touch with the market. $30 for a Crazy Harry and $35 for a Link Hogthrob. They were the unpopular figures, can pick them up for a few bucks loose if you look around. $50 for half of an incomplete Vaudville set is way high too. Perhaps have a...
haha, i'd go with them dumping the whole idea and trying something different.
Seeing as the whole movie is a take on the whole "classic" element of bringing back these much loved characters (ie - the plot of getting them back together) I would have preferred something classy and traditional...
I don't really like it, the Muppets aren't just about Kermit - I can understand highlighting him as everyone is familiar with him, but they overdo it sometimes
Yeah i would agree some kind of TV special is a must in order to get the Muppets "over" with the kiddies and just people in general again.
I'd like to see the Muppets on Letterman, but apparently he hates puppets so maybe not, and it's a shame Larry King won't be around as i always enjoyed...
The box is in a poor state and no plaque. Yes these can be worth a lot, but part of the collectability is in keeping it all in premium condition and i'd think the value goes down without that. I think they'd struggle to get $800 for this, but i could maybe see a perfect one going for that.
