No no no. That's not it at all. There are some very good sites with well thought out lists. And then everyone and their mother has these lists that are thrown together and just odd singular opinions or something no one would agree on. I really like Cracked (most of the time) and they have...
I'm really getting sick of these random lists of crap, actually.
I stupidly wasted my time with this article about 5 movies that didn't deserve to bomb and at least 3 of those films were terrible and deserved it. You can't even tell if these are written sarcastically anymore.
Really...
Seth's becoming a far better movie maker than that lets on. Ted may have been vulgar, but darned if it wasn't one of the best comedy movies in recent years. It was a nice little tongue in cheek parody of 1980's style kid's movies. And, let's face it, those were pretty vulgar themselves. Like...
Personally, I'd rather a Sesame Street or a Fraggle Rock line of some kind if I were to have a choice.
But I'd do things a little differently.
Blind box Muppet Monsters that come 2 to a pack. One larger Monster (Sweetums/DogLion/Etc) and one smaller Frackle or something.
That's Disney flexing it's corporate synergy muscle. I'm sure that they urged that cameo in the first place (wonder if it's as backhanded as the Selina Gomez one), so they're going to ramp that up in the promotion. But then again, it seems they're doing that was most of the cameos anyway...
To the surprise of no one, Marvel's getting the license to Star Wars comics.
Too bad Marvel doesn't also publish other Disney properties. It stinks we're one of the only countries without regular Scrooge and Donald comics.... especially since those characters are from America to begin with...
I'll never forget this net example. I forget when it was exactly, but it was near the end of the Bush era. I was searching for pictures on the internet of Quagmire from Family Guy, and lo and behold the first result I got was a Fox News report on how the word "Quagmire" has been thrown around...
Fox only apologizes for extreme cases. Barely then. They did fire Glenn Back, which I give them credit for, but that's because he said something so extreme, it caused them to lose sponsors. It's not about taking responsibility in that case, more like not trying to lose any money. And it was...
^^^^
That. ALL of that. Really, saying "both sides are exactly the same" is nothing but an over simplification and pretty much a black and black world view. Not even black and white.
My point is, there's a HUGE helping of disproportionate retribution when it comes to right wing pundits...
It's a really crappy version of that, essentially. But the underlying fact is this... the station constantly runs an infomercial for itself.
But seriously... even the commercials for the shows are snarky. That I don't need.
Crappy movies no one cares about, Magnum P.I., Charlie's Angels, Bionic Woman, a couple 70's Cop shows that I can't name at the moment and Fantasy Island. But the worst thing they air is a constant infomercial for itself where they have a bunch of 20-30 somethings snark at everything. All...
Even if this was intended as a joke piece, this guy's snarky comments are forced and unfunny. How this guy even has a career is pathetic in and of itself. It's like he's trying to be Cracked and failing miserably at it.
But I seriously love the comments whining about Political Correctness...
I don't know what's more pathetic. The article or the paranoid comments from tin foil hat wearing wackadoos that think that Sesame Street is out to get them because they don't show 40 year old segments anymore. I thought some of the more militant old school people on this board were bad about...
I'd say the direction is exactly the same, but the consequences are different. Once again, I'm not saying one side is right or wrong, but stating the different stigma each side faces. I see one side being neurotic and apologetic, and the other side just going with it and not caring. The...
You're seeing black and white. All I'm saying.
The issue?
TV Star says something racist, homophobic, sexist, and over all idiotic for hateful reasons- victim.
Pundits say something vaguely racist for passive aggressive reasons - horrible people.
Add to this layer...
Those who supported...
Evil or not, there is difference. The right is very unapologetic, while the left is so incredibly neurotic.
Look at it this way... Americans supported a wasteful, pointless, pork barrel of a war yet freak the heck out when they're offered health care. In any way you want to judge either...
