20 tears? I guess that's accurate. I could see a lot of people crying when they see Elmo taking over the show. Lol.
Herry did get quite a bit of airtime in season 34. He hasn't been seen much this season, but maybe that has a little to do with Jerry Nelson retiring.
Yeah, I was just assuming that since Marty dubbed over Brian's Telly in "Big Bird in China." I thought he might have dubbed over the original Marty Telly to make him sound more like we know him today.
So you're saying that it's more of his personality that's different rather than his voice...
I know it was Martin, but I was wondering if the DVD version used his early Telly voice or the later Telly voice. If it's the early voice I'd like to see it some time soon to get an idea of how Telly used to sound.
I was just about to mention that one. I remember that only Ernie's head was shown there. I have wondered about that considering that both that one and the one that was shown yesterday were updated versions of the original.
I agree. That sounds like a good one. Heck, they could have used it as in insert on "Sesame Street" this year since they are focused with healthy eating.
Yeah, I'm assuming it was the original. It was discussed in another thread that in the early eps that Ernie used to have a goofier voice in the early eps and he did sound a bit goofier in the one I saw. If it was the original from 1969, why don't they play anything else from that year? It...
I guess that's a possibility too. Cookie and Bert are both seen in puppet form during "True Blue Miracle" and neither of them said anything, so Richard could have performed one while Frank was performing the other.
I never thought of the season five opening being longer than the season one opening. After all, they didn't have Fozzie's joke or a shot of the guest star. Then again, the guest star was shown in the "cold openings" of season five. I don't know whether or not those are actually counted as...
Something I want to ask about here. I just saw the Sesame Street ep today where Gordon takes Elmo to the ball game and he needs to find a fish sitter. On that episode they showed Ernie singing "Rubber Duckie." I'm kind of wondering if that was the original version from 1969. Ernie's voice...
Yeah, I remember seeing that movie when I was little. I have a question though. Did Marty Robinson dub in Telly's later voice on the DVD like he did for "Big Bird in China?" I've been wondering about that since when the movie was made Marty's Telly voice was more like Brian Muehl's.
I remember seeing that video. I think that's weird that they would change Slimey's name for that. I guess they were trying to reduce licensing costs.
I'm assuming Slimey's voice now is a sped up version of Marty's voice.
Yeah, I used to watch that show in the morning, but they recently changed the time and now it's on too early in the morning for me to get up.
I think that show is so much better than the American Sesame Street the way it is now. They play much more classic clips which haven't been seen on...
I wouldn't say he's gone. They could bring him back if they wanted to. Sure it would cost money to use something new, but if they had a series of events where his news reporter role was necessary (such as the hurricane episodes or the ones where Slimey goes to the moon) it would be worth it...
Yeah, I'd like to see something like that.
I have seen a few "speechless" posters with the Looney Tunes characters after Mel Blanc died. I know that's sort of off topic here, but hearing of that cartoon reminded me of that. I would like to see that Bert and Ernie cartoon sometime. It seems...
I think he spoke in the Kenny Rogers episode. He didn't have a very big line. But somebody told him to do something and he said "okay" or something like that. I'm sure there were more eps in which he spoke. And he definately spoke in MTI when he wanted to get involved in "politics."
I'll have to listen for that again, I'm not sure either. Maybe he didn't say "ate." Maybe it was "we take our own ship." The version I have on tape is ABC's version though, so even if he did swear it was probably edited out.
I'm sure there were more. I remember reading in "The Muppet Show" book about a scene where Kermit gets knocked into the balcony when he fights "Granny the Gouger." I'm guessing that was the Zero Mostel episode. I haven't seen that one, but I'm assuming this is how it went.
:boo: Why don't...
