The thing that drives me up the wall is this. If the word of mouth was that the film was this horrible, poorly done on every level, torturous to watch and was condemned as a failure on those facts, I wouldn't mind. But it's all "nyeehhhhh, this is a slight disappointment. That's the worst...
There is no defending MWO. The script was lousy and the whole thing was a commercial for American Idol. It was an embarrassment, and the poor reception not only killed all plans Disney had for the Muppets at the time, it also successfully killed "The Wonderful World of Disney." Yep. A...
TMNT toys are selling briskly. They took forever to restock after Christmas, and it looks like they're actually marketing TMNT over Spongebob recently. No Lie. I'm seeing more TMNT than Spongebob lately. On that level I'm happy.
But screwing over every animated TV show (which isn't new...
You CAN blame them for NOT doing the research and realizing that every Muppet Movie is different and they never (intentionally) made the same piece twice.
Which begs the question...what the heck were they expecting? You can't follow a big comeback film with another big comeback film. What are...
I'm sorry, but most of the reviews were bullcrap and based on Jason Segal not being involved. If people actually listened to them and avoided this movie because of those frankly poorly written and amateurish (for professionals) reviews, they are NOT true fans (true fans sit through much worse...
Disney or CN. Disney doesn't obsessively obsess over those things much anymore. Especially since the Jonahs Brothers just flopped all over the place. They forced them into a show no one liked and tried to reboot it, effectively wanting it to happen badly and trying to make it something. They...
MFS is very much Gonzo's movie. If that's taken into account it makes the film more enjoyable. Plus the scenes with Bobo and Jeffery Tambor are just priceless. I wish they made him the Wizard's bumbling assistant in MWO. I would have liked it more.
That's not to say there aren't some things I liked about MWO. But it just boils down to Scooter's in it and the Electric Mayhem sort of plays 2 songs. The newer characters gave their best, but couldn't save it for me like they did with MFS.
Not being pessimistic here, but I don't see how 1.1 million on a weekday is terrible especially since it's just a Monday. I honestly didn't see it making over 5 Mil over this week. Maybe at least getting half it's budget back by Friday at most.
It's made almost 20 counting Argentina so far...
Don't get me wrong, I would love that to have been the reason. Then we can shake their fists at them and their Fox Business News stream of toxic manipulation and lies.
But then again, if it did, Lego would have bombed.
Now, I know there are some conservatives here that are rational...
I can see what you mean, but it really seems that it was done with a touch of sarcasm and irony. In the context of Muppet fandom, I took it as a metaphor. The sunny, happy, internal world of the Muppets being this huge, popular thing, and the cold dark reality of them being under-appreciated...
I don't know what to make of this and it's all wait and see.
As long as it's hands off Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls, I'm open.
But the CN shift worries me because, well, every time they fire someone, they hire someone worse. CN has bounced back with Adventure Time, Regular Show, Uncle...
They look like the ones that would usually retail in places like TRU. I really wish more stores carried those. The Gonzo actually looks pretty good for what it is (his likeness is always screwed up anyway).
I forget the exact story and the exact explanation. But it's absolutely idiotic.
It has something to do with DC comics level mumbo jumbo BS about not using him so he'd look bad in a bad project. Goofy, Donald... yeah, they can be in horrible stuff apparently, but Mickey can't be in anything...
Exactly the point I'm trying to make.
It really feels like the reaction is "OH YEAH! I love those guys. I have all their movies on DVD. oh, they have a movie out...ehhh...I'll wait for netflix or something." or "Man! The Muppets have a new movie! We have to see it at once! Jason Segal...
Disney hates releasing ANYTHING that isn't a movie. Even their current TV shows. You would have thought that Toy Story 3 was important and big enough to release Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on any capacity. Nope. And they didn't have to clear any music rights for that one either...
I'll get You What You Want, most definitely. And I do not mind.
Of course, before I saw the movie I kept hearing this weird 70's music video about fast food I saw at Anime He[ck] Friday Night... and I can't for the life of me figure out what the name of it was here, or I'd inflict it all on you.
