The only other times I've really seen it done were MWO, Muppet Babies Snow White episode, Muppet Snow White (same character, same role), and various other little parody/retelling type things (the other comics and Muppet Babies episodes).
It's hit or miss. Evil Johnny Fiama in Muppet Robin Hood...
Hmm... I was going to mention that myself. Glad I'm not the only one that thought so.
Especially when he was singing about number one and number 2...
2!
AH AH AHHHHH!!!! :batty:
Question...
will this affect Disney XD at all? I'd hate for something to happen to Pac-Man and Xiaolin Chronicles. Hulk, Spidey, and Avengers all seem safe enough.
Issue 1 of the 4 part miniseries is out now. Bullwinkle fans will be happy. It's a really good read.
It's true to the original, with a little of Mark's styling on it. The artwork is fantastic, with Roger giving a a nice spin on the character designs, giving them a little more depth and...
The first trailer of TMNT is out
Still very inconclusive. It doesn't look good or bad yet, and the Turtles seem right (you could say the same about the Transformers, but they weren't what was wrong with the movies). The movie seems to borrow similarities between the IDW comics origin (the...
Which is what I'm hoping was wrong, and I'll just leave it at that.
The only thing about it doing better overseas, Europe especially, is that it will be seen as a European success, and that'll be yet another Disney franchise that only stays in Europe. Along with the Comic Book Duck universe.
On the plus side... yes. We've managed to get 2 Muppet movies while Henson can't even get the most independent of their three big movies (Happytime Murders that is) off the ground. And Disney did try it's darndest. They didn't try to file this film into the background and then just dump some...
Can I say how shocked I am that the movie did well (other than actually seeing it and finding it the quality they never bothered in the 4 other Jay Ward films)? Mr. Peabody and Sherman is a cartoon that doesn't have a huge fanbase under the age of 30. Muppet movies are always accessible, Rocky...
Which is why I'm angry. The negative reviews are in the minority, and they didn't say the movie was horrible. They were just slightly disappointed, and acting like a selfish child on Christmas that got 4 out of 5 things he asked for... and the 5th thing was small, inconsequential, and not...
It's still a better investment than a huge movie with a big budget, no matter how much it loses. But it still looks less and less likely this will get anywhere unless it manages to kinda hang around a few box offices after the 3 week mark.
For the sake of sanity, I'm just going to say it's...
Is it just me, or do people really not know what it is to have a REALLY bad film any more? It seems like (and yes, I'm beating a dead horse into pulp with this one) when a movie's a slight disappointment or they do one thing that rubs them the wrong way, it's the WORST THING EVER!!!
Moving off...
If this film becomes a failure because kids don't care and the general public doesn't either, I'd be disappointed, but write it off. I mean, the general public didn't get Pacific Rim (one of the best movies of last year), but flocked to Grown Ups 2. That stuff happens.
What drives me...
I'd say most of the Disney Store ones. It's a real shame they never restocked the Pepe the Prawn one. That was the best one they had, hands down (and the only one of the assortment I had).
Anyway, gonna be on the lookout for those Walgreens ones. Might as well pick up a Constantine.
They have the right to be stubborn, nostalgiaholics, sure.
They do not however, have the right to whine that the franchise is dead and that we won't see so much as a t-shirt if this falls by the wayside. If they don't support it because of the fear of being mildly disappointed and being so...
But they at least go to the movies to whine about them. Not the case here.
And the Star Wars argument is weak for 2 reasons.
1) Star Wars is a franchise that could live on the merits of it's old films alone. And as much as everyone oh so hates the prequels, none of those movies bombed...
Which is my take home from this. "Oh, we love these classic characters... as long as they do nothing, remain inaccessible, and get buried under a bunch of new stuff we hate for being new." Sure, they'll buy a t-shirt they'll wear once and complain that the Muppet Show isn't on TV. Maybe buy a...
I honestly don't see why fans aren't seeing this as a better film than the last one. I mean, the last one was very good, and before this film, my favorite of the post-Jim films... just knocking on the door of as good as the originals. This film didn't just feel more like a Muppet Movie... it...
Know what one of my favorite films of last March was? Amazing Burt Wonderstone. it was a movie that was cheap to produce and it didn't do well either. It doesn't matter if the budget is tiny if the returns are tinier. On the level of Lone Ranger's huge box office bombing and bloated budget, a...
On the plus side (and don't think I'm not conflicted), I'm glad at least Peabody and Sherman is doing pretty good (hopefully enough to be considered successful). In the long line of Jay Ward films, they needed a hit that got mostly good reviews. And frankly, it is the best one so far, paying...
