Sounds like a solid cast. Though, the Birds cartoons have them just make reaction noises with no dialogue spoken, and somehow I think that works better for the characters. Though not so much for a 90 minute movie (or a comic... they speak in the comic). To be quite honest, I didn't dig them...
While some Bronies may not appreciate that version of the characters, at least they can take comfort the closest Michael Bay ever came to the franchise was the scientist screwing around with "transformium" and making a model of Rainbow Dash out of it that morphed into a gun.
From that perspective, it does make sense, but from a conceptual and writing perspective, it's a disappointing dangling concept on an otherwise not bad episode.
As for the other episodes, the Buster one manages to make use of it being a show about kids and doing what kids usually do. I'm glad...
Here's something I just noticed. With a couple exceptions, the skits were uploaded officially to Youtube for the most part after they aired. Maybe SW realized they were giving out the best parts before they aired and meant that there was no reason for anyone to watch the show proper as a result?
You know... I haven't seen the Beast ballz commercial in some time. Either they were an abject failure, or Disney (or SW) caught wind of this and sent them cease and desists for Orange Grover/Eyebrowless, fangless Animal.
That's another thing I had a problem with, actually. Pretty Penny really could have been a menace in the episode, but just appears and disappears with only the explanation that it was just a manifest of the Master Computer heavy handed rant thing. There could have been a nice subtext about...
They're barely available in mine, and I heard they changed the formula so it tastes terrible.
Yeah... Super Why... if all the things not to be available in certain areas, I wish it was that instead of the cereal. Actually, kinda surprised POST wasn't one of Sesame Street's sponsors for having...
I'm sure that even at least has a plot and an at the moment following.
I know they're still trying for that Angry Birds film. While I don't see how they could possibly make that work for a full 90 minutes, they at least have a series of actually pretty good short cartoons. There's a comic...
Nintendo vehemently refuses to license their characters out for another movie (barring Pokemon's annual animated film). I can't blame them. The Mario movie production was so incredibly screwed up that it's no wonder it ended up as bad as it was. Imagine what a bad Hollywood producer could do...
The Friend who wasn't there was surprisingly enjoyable. I liked the Wizard of Oz bit, especially D.W.'s "why couldn't I gone on a quest with dwarfs and elves?" line. But yeah, I really think they devolved the message into "kids should have absolutely nothing so they have imaginations, which...
Hard not to remember. The Juicy Juice thing was a product tie in with characters on the backs of juice boxes. My sister used to ask for them all the time for school.
They may have, but there's so many rumblings about stupid things getting movies all the time, it's easy to filter out. Most of them are just troll pranks anyway (like Space Jam 2 was).
Now someone's going to rehash the tired "Hollywood is out of ideas" line again. This time I'll agree to a...
Okay... this is the mother of all stupid right here. Tantamount to the adult equivilant of the Oogiewoogies that started the thread...
Tetris the movie. You heard...uh...read that right. Tetris the freaking movie. A plotless video game puzzle has a movie. Even Battleship had more reason to...
Makes me want to find a certain Simpsons clip and post it here.
Yeah, that's not too bad I suppose. Still makes the McDonald's outrage seem petty. Still don't see why those busybodies that whine endlessly about kid's television don't use their time and money to donate to PBS children's...
I honestly wish they did go bankrupt. All I'm saying. They're...they're awful.
Anyway, Boxtrolls. What I really loved about the film besides the visuals was the fact that the trolls themselves and one of the white hats were voiced by actual cartoon voice actors. Dee Bradley Baker, Steve...
Actually, you know that 1970's PBS logo that everyone's a-scared of? That fluttery sound while the P is sliding to the left of the screen? Almost that exactly. I swear. Just longer.
Gordon basically has the overly angry Brit thing. And frankly, it's more like Fawlty Towers or Chef without the comeuppance or him at least looking like a fool. And he's actually not a bad guy in reality. But he has, like, too many darn shows on Fox. And I'd take them in a heartbeat over...
The B List celebrities are one thing. I feel more sorry for the cartoon voice actors. Especially David Kaye... yeeeesss... (please tell me someone watched enough Beast Wars to get that).
Friggin' Bumblebee Tuna Be's Sean Astin. Nick not paying him enough for Raphael?
