Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
That's hillarious, because NOONE outside of the Henson/Disney legal department considers a "Muppet" seperation between Sesame/Fraggle/Bear/Muppets and JHC. I mean Jim Henson Improv uses known Muppet characters, I don't see the big deal.
Now to be fair, while I consider Animal Jam and Bear...
Well isn't one of the puppets the possum on Statler and Waldorf at the movies and the koala from Animal Jam? Look at Mopatop in the UK or that Australian Jim Henson animal show; they all used and interchanged Muppets from all different eras and productions.
I myself never saw a seperation...
Another article on it:

And FYI folks, for anyone that saw footage from Comic Con of this puppet troupe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmQpBIB8YPs
Those DEFINATELY look like Muppets, and they might even be extras from Muppet productions.
Just curious if their are any California area puppeteers interested in taking part in a rather ambitious Star Wars independent film(or "fan film") that will be filmed partly in the bay area and central CA as well as in other parts.
There's been a few Star Wars "fan film shorts" made, but...
Once can only hope, I'd love to see some test footage of these so called "new voices"....I'll reserve judgement for later. But it disturbs me we have no teven heard rumors of any new Muppet projects for the future.
As for the new S&W @ the movies, LOVED IT! Best new episode in ages, and...
Pretty nifty! I enjoyed the Beaker/Bunsen, Pepe at the beach, and naked skydiving part. Oddly enough, this Muppet Spotlight looked like it came from 1989...even tho its talking about very 2004 things:)
Btw, anyone ever seen the Muppet Show Fox 2002 pilot pitch?
That's what Im banking on...and in fact Im surprised Disney hasnt done one yet, like the Disney World Star Wars Celebration. I would be at Disneyland or WDW is a nanosecond if they had a weekend like that, but ONLY if some of the actual muppets and performers were there.
Then you won't want to see it:)
Seriously, this is a sad day when people think Jim Henson and their puppets have to be relegated to the children's bin exclusively...like Muppet Wizard of Oz was some great heralded triumph for children's cinema.
I for one would LOVE to see a wildly over...
Very good point beebers. You know my headline should have been "politicians want to snub out PBS", as I find both sides of the political aisle in power highly corrupt:)
I wonder what fiscally conservative Sam the Eagle would have to say about this.
Yeah when I say Republicans, I don't mean your average conservative...I mean the right wingers. As even my conservative republican friends can't believe they want to do away with PBS.
I'm not of any political party or ideology, so if it was liberals and democrats wanting this I'd be just as...

``Dick Cheney and the Republicans have decided to go hunting for `Big Bird' and `Clifford the Big Red Dog' once again," said Representative Edward J. Markey , a Malden Democrat who led the...
Yeah, they bought the "Muppet" name, but come on...it's still Muppets even if they cant use the trademark name.
Are we going to say Fraggles and Sesame arent Muppets since they can't use that name anymore?
Anyways, very curious about this. Wish it was network tv tho.
To EVERYONE except the Disney legal team, any non creature shop/fantasy puppt created by Henson company before or after the Disney buyout is considered a "Muppet"...be they Muppet Show, fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, Bear, or even Animal Jam. It's all Muppets. Otherwise Muppetcentral would no...
So I take it they go to Bear In The Big Blue Crack House?
Actually I remember seeing back in 1997 a site called "Sesame Hood", that actually had some pretty good children's book illustrations of the Sesame characters all gang membered out.
