    Describe yourself with fictional characters

Probably I filled out this meme on Facebook a few months back. ;)

    What are your stories?

"KarWash," given to you by D'Snowth in response to you giving him "JoeScar" previously, and also because "KarWash" with a 'K' looks wicked cool.

    The "You know what?" thread

We've often discussed the incompetence of the rating system in today's modern cinema, but heh, it strikes me as amusing that much of CollegeHumor's content is rated "TV-Y." I mean, that has to be a joke, right?

    When you need to rant...

Don Bluth used to do that as well.

    When you need to rant...

That's one of things I liked about Brad Bird's movies: unlike other Pixar movies that reel in A-listers for the voices, Brad didn't necessarily follow with that standard; I always enjoyed the anecdote of him bringing that girl who voiced Violet in THE INCREDIBLES after hearing her on the radio...

    When you need to rant...

Be that as it may, what does this do for the people who actually make their careers by doing voice acting? Animated features aside, that is?

    When you need to rant...

Yes, I've brought this up I don't know how many times before - it's almost as if it's some sort of an unwritten rule for animated movies now. Even animated series in some cases, such as how Kristen Wiig voiced Lola and Fred Armisen voiced Speedy Gonzales on THE LOONEY TUNES SHOW.

    Learn Something New Everyday Thread

Apparently George Clooney is married again. I thought he was on the top of every woman's eligible bachelor list as soon as he was back on the market.

Now what's going on with YouTube?

:sigh: Another day of buffering/loading issues and YouTube wanting to reload the videos down to 240 and 144p.

    The Chipmunks

And ironically, that's actually a complaint that a lot of people have, in that since the 80s, the actual musical aspect of the franchise has taken a backseat to everything else, including character development and storytelling. The thing of it is, prior to the 80s, there was a time in...

    The Chipmunks

I seem to be in a minority here, but clearly the voices aren't as squeaky as they once were - and some people actually like that, they feel making the voices less squeaky makes the characters less annoying . . . and I suppose if sped-up voices aren't your bag, then that's understandable, but I...

The What did you do today thread

And why did you start a new thread when you just posted in the old one? http://www.muppetcentral.com/forum/threads/the-“what-did-you-do-today-”-thread.52928/

The New What Made You Frown Today Thread

Yes, I was just thinking about that Paula Poundstone video, and she really does have a point! I mean again, I was at Olive Garden a few years ago when it was evidently prom night - so many highschool couples were arriving at the restaurants in their suits or tuxedos, and their best dresses . . ...

    RIP Peter Sallis

I see nobody has posted this, but today, we lost Peter Sallis. He was a familiar face to Englanders for the numberous roles he played in film and television as far back as the late 50s/early 60s, but for people outside the U.K., they probably remember him more for his voice and memeworthy...

The New What Made You Frown Today Thread

My concern as well is that kids today will also be deprived of something that previous generations had as a luxury: imagination.

The new What Made You Smile Today thread

Much of this week will be well below average: like anywhere from 10-15 degrees. Not complaining at all, not only is this a nice way to kick off summer, but it's been several years since we've had 70s in June.

    Courage the Cowardly Dog returning?

Dilly has finally given us a look at what Prudence was originally supposed to look like: In a way, I guess I can kind of understand why whatever network he was developing this with didn't care for the design: they probably felt like this would be fat-shaming girls, though Dilly's argument is...

    The "You know what?" thread

I'm sick of bad actors somehow thinking they have what it takes to create/produce/run their own shows. Seriously, there's absolutely no need to Melissa McCarthy to start getting involved in things behind the camera - and for TV Land at that, where all of their original sitcoms automatically suck.

The 'What Song Are You Currently Listening To?' Thread

One of my favorite Weird Al jams: I still remember when Disney used this is a mockumentary about Donald in the early 90s.

Sesame Street Season 47 Episode 4722 - Rocking Rollie

Zoe hasn't been Elmo's best friend since . . . well, since they brought Abby onto the show . . . and really, that was intentional: they needed Abby to ride Elmo's coat tails so he could bolster her star power, because apparently other female Muppets such as Zoe or Rosita managed to reach the...
