I was getting ready to say, New England is certainly in much closer proximity to NYC than, say, Tennessee is, lol.
I suppose I could make the drive down to Atlanta for the exhibit they have at the Center for Puppetry Arts, but the magnitude probably wouldn't compare to such an event as this, lol.
My point was people who put all the blame of Kermit being "bitter and depressed" on Steve's performance would be like blaming Snuffy and Telly being whiney depressed characters all on Jerry and Brian's performances.
Well, he said he found it a bit odd at first, because he then learned that the French don't even like us, and he couldn't figure out how during the war, we helped liberate the French yet they hate us, and Germans were our enemies, yet they like us.
If it really is Steve's fault that Kermit's personality has suffered all these years, then I guess that makes sense after all. I mean, I guess it was Jerry Nelson's fault that Snuffy was a terrible character up until the 80s, likewise it was Brian Meehl's fault Telly was even worse: both...
I know I said Jim could never fire anyone except for Diana Birkenfield over creative differences, however, I just remembered that Michael Earl was fired from SST as well because Jon Stone said he "didn't take direction well."
I can't remember who, specifically, but I remember an insert involving a celebrity staying at the Furry Arms, being cramped inside his room, and even having the hotel staff sing a lullaby to him, which he found strangely soothing.
Well, I also like the late 90s and into the late 2000s.
But for my own, personal preference, if there are specific eras of SST I'm the most fond of, I would say from the mid 80s to early 90s, and Seasons 30-38 (except for 35 and 37).
I got them in a little pack, but I can't remember if I got them at Hobby Lobby or Jo-Ann, or even in the craft department at Walmart. Either way, I imagine Big Bird and Elmo were trying to build a block tower that would touch the sky. ;)
I just now realized the 3D printer I mentioned previous...
Since Photobucket has screwed everybody over and image links have been broken in this thread, I've been in the process of migrating the stuff in my bucket from the past twelve years (some 800+ random pics) to a different service, so since MC doens't allow for people to go back and edit older...
I disagree somewhat. I'll agree Eric does well as Grover (though that took a long time to get used to) and Piggy, but I feel like there's still a very noticable difference in his Bert and Fozzie compared to Frank's.
And this is yet another reason why Sid & Marty Krofft was able to get more done than Jim: they knew how to sell a show; they didn't bother to write treatments, outlines, drafts, scripts, etc. Instead, they created "bibles" full of conceptual artwork of the characters and settings, and the whole...
Caroll learned to speak French, because when he was in the Air Force and was about to be shipped out, he hoped to be shipped to France . . . and he got sent to Germany instead.
I doubt that very much; this is why Steve remained quiet about it all these months: he was hoping through some last-minute miracle, Disney would change their minds, but they didn't. If they didn't change their minds then, I doubt they'll change their minds now; too many people within Disney's...
Unless I have other people working with me on a project, I usually forego scripts altogether and just wing it - feels more genuine and spontaneous that way.
