Words I cannot type on this forum come to mind when I see that monstrosity of a "Smurf" movie trailer. Then again I thought it was the worst cartoon to ever come out of the 80's. But have these Garfield/Alvin live action/cg films not shown how low the bar has gone?
Anyways, I don't know why...
Totally. Now there were times when Statler and Waldorf, the few times Scooter spoke, etc...the characters's voices took you out of the illusion. But for the most part...honestly, how many people sit there and go "man this so is not Kermit" or "man this isnt frank oz' Animal, Piggy and Fozzie". I...
I still can't get over how amazing Eric Jaccobsob's performance of Frank Oz characters are. Heck, even the most recent Scooter at the end of Bo-Rhap was spot on. People complaining about these recasts should maybe just stick to watching the dvds of the 70's and 80's productions.
Over the years Ive seen within illustrated books, multiple action figure lines, etc so many varying charts and heights of the Muppets. Is there an official Muppet guideline?
This is from 2003 I believe, the back of a Muppet package which from what I can tell has a pretty accurate gauge on...
Heh, Fraggle movie. Does JHC have any credibility left?
Dark Crystal sequel, Fraggle movie...yawn. I feel ashamed I ever jumped on the anti Disney bandwagon.
We as Muppet fans really have to detatch ourselves from the Jim Henson Company. There is very little, if any connection between them and the Muppets anymore. And while many of us of course opposed a Disney buyout at first, I think it's pretty clear disney not only picked up the fumbled...
Oh wow...
I remember reading about the famous pipes story ages ago in a Muppet book, the proto genesis of many of the Muppet characters from a bored little session of the "great four".
Never thought I'd see it not only given its own segment on NBC world news and Today Show, but a central...
1. I second the Digit and Leon, and other JHH characters!
2. Given Segal seems more familiar with 70's and 80's Muppets, he almost seems to have Pepe MIA. Pepe to me is one of the main characters, and it wouldn't make sense to not have him in one of the main roles
3. We don't need Frank...
Dude, youre a genuis! Thatd rock. I remember right before LOTR 3 they had the mastercard muppet short on the big screen, and I was SO thrilled!
btw, looney tunes will start doing shorts again at the movies
Oh I have no doubt the big mouse will saturate with marketing like noone else. And I welcome it. Heck there is not ONE place I can go to or drive or go online without seeing Toy Story 3 promos. Massive insane billboards in San Francisco, promos at all the restuaraunts, department stores, malls...
I DESPISE the Christmas release date. Not saying summer is the best time(see MFS) but I think summer feels WAY more Muppety than the sweet sacarine tingue of Xmas day releases. Save Christmas time for Christmas Muppet specials!
Ok so am I assuming that Jonah Hill is confirmed to be in this...
Aw, this feels like the excitement we had on here back in 1998, when filming was about to commence on MFS. So, I'm guessing some sort of May-August sort of release date?
The only thing that bugs me is the "breaking the fourth wall" idea...its kind of funny/charming in a classic Woody Allen...
My favorite one yet! I love how theyve really made Carl and Bobo some of the main Muppet characters in the last year, very unexpected yet welcomed.
Also, new Muppet Chang video recapping Lost:

Ooh very cool! Prell is always such a sweetie and huge fan like all of us, and it would be cool to see Paul perform too.
Now are they going to do a live digital puppetry thing, or did they make a Sid the Science kid puppet? As I think that'd be pretty spiffy.
Sweeet! I am so loving these!
There's another new one, this one of a Muppet version of Pierre Chang: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC0ZhqIz8Kk&feature=channel
Flippin' sweet!
Ive been following Jim Hill for years, and he's ALWAYS been a rabid pro Muppet fan. His pessimism was shared by me, the the house of mouse wasnt doing anything with them. For five years.
This article is right on, and I learned a lot of new tidbits. I like the name change to the movie, I like...
That orangutang is from the never shown Late Night Buffet pilot, tho Im not sure the other ones have been used in puppet up or HA! stuff.
But FINALLY, HA! brand used in late night adult formats on tv
