What I remember happening (and I could be off) but Henson liquidated its licenses by paying off the deals at a big loss. I think the liquidation was part of the contract with Disney. This is partly what hurt the company after the Disney deal fell through and why there was an absence of product...
Well, that was the shortest and most successful interview I've had to date. I still have to meet with one more person as a formality, but it's highly likely I got this freelance position that could lead to other things. I was kind of freaked that they used the term "over-qualified" but since...
Thanks. When it rains it pours. Only 2 of them are jobs I'd want to keep long term. :)
Time to turn in. Gotta look rested and be on my toes. :excited:
Thanks, yall!
I have on interview tomorrow morning and three more next week. There are only two jobs that I really want - one in particular. My recruiter sent out several resumes from very talented peers and they only bit on mine. Believe it or not, it's in the gaming industry, but on the...
I agree. Disney products have nothing on these figures and their stuff is getting really cheap these days. :( But I remember that most of the old deals were liquidated before the failed buy-out.
I wonder why they couldn't get McDonnalds or Diet Coke on board. Okay, they are kind of icky products for my standards, but the commercials were great and would have fit beautifully. They could have even gotten some money from Coke and McDs.
Yeah. His lip has also been growing in the most modern images, but not that much. What can you do? It's still a good figure and a better likeness than the bust IMHO.
Ken-
Are we going to see a final shot of these guys soon?
:)
The angle of the figure still has his head looking up. That's about half of the issue, but I do think they should tone it down. Makes the nose look small, but again, they are retooling him.
You have picked a 70s photograph when this figure resembles the more modern puppet. The bust has a similar mouth issue too. Plus the picture is looking down while the figure is looking up. There are many factors. I think the figure is great already, but but they are still being tweaked. You...
From the bust or the figure? My bust review is up on Muppet Central and covers the conditions of the bust in more depth than I could go into here. Both hecklers aren't quite right. :boo: You should check it out.
Statler's top lip is lower these days than it was in the 80s. I think...
I understood ya. I just didn't favor the idea. A sight gag speaks much more than words or word balloons. The animators were skilled enough to pull that off. It's just sad that he wasn't in the film. I'm glad they found a way to stick his image somewhere.
There are images of Chuck Jones' drawings in Valiant's office
Word balloons were a big part of the book the idea was taken from, but I think that would have been too much. This was about movie toons, not comics. The sight gag would be worth more without it. To bad. I wonder what some of...
There are a lot of the same issues with the bust too. Statler and Waldorf are still being retooled. Recent Statler merchandise has the upper lip issue. This might be a Henson decision. The bust of Statler has crossed eyes. Now that's freaky.
But Felix doesn't talk. Well, he did when they tried to bring him back in the 90s, but not back then. The pushing of a mop would have been enough. Love it.
Oooh! Forgot. One of the completed deleted scenes wasn't shown. It was a quick scene in the theater lobby where Eddie was explaining the Cloverleaf connection to Delores and Roger. It was very quick and aired on the Wonderful World of Disney in the early 90s.
There was also confirmation in...
