"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

No, she still turns up very frequently - she was in several episodes just this past season.

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

K, so a few other PBS stations around the country seem to confirm a November 17th airdate, for PBS at least. HBO's November 10th schedule seems to have a gap just big enough that it could be the special. In all honesty, it makes sense it would air on HBO first and not simultaneously - gotta...

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

I was looking at the other weekend nights prior to the 17th.

"Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration" special to air November 9 on HBO and November 17 on PBS

That's neat to know. I'm not seeing anything on HBO's schedules though (even the "blanked out" spaces in prime time don't seem to match the time WGBH suggests it runs).

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street 50 Years and Counting DVD Set

Color correction and such is a form of restoration, sure. However, these things were shot on tape, not film, so there's really only so much you can do to upgrade the footage.

    repeated sesame street plots

There are a number of episodes we've found on the Wiki where the plotline is pretty much re-shot from an earlier script. Your example seems to be one where it's a similar idea, but not a direct remake.

Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

Also, I know this thread is about the Lost and Found event, but I would also encourage folks to attend some of the other Sesame 50th Anniversary screenings they have coming up: http://movingimage.us/programs/2019/07/28/detail/celebrating-50-years-of-sesame-street/

Official: Elmo’s Staying Up Late Show coming to HBO Max on May 27, 2020

I'd like to reiterate - this isn't something that will supplant the main show in any way. Think of this like Play With Me Sesame, only less opportunities to see classic sketches re-run. There's a lot of potential for fun here, though. Celebrity interactions can be great, musical performances...

HBO Max to debut Sesame Street Seasons 51-55 and stream episodes from 50-year library

Per their press release: "Newly commissioned HBO Max content will also be made available to PBS KIDS after premiering on HBO Max. "

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street 50 Years and Counting DVD Set

Skimmed through a copy from the library. Random thoughts: -Man, the stuff from the 70s looks way too bright and over saturated - does not look good. "Born to Add" just has the brightness turned up, no contrast or anything. I get this was kinda a rushed product, but still. Eech. -There's a few...

Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

No doubt they're just going to show just the street scenes of those things, maybe not even the all of them. These events are like an hour-and-a-half to two hours; they're not going to waste that time showing an entire episode, especially when they have panelists to talk about stuff.

    Little things we've noticed

I don't think anyone was really hammy during the 90s and 2000s other than Mike (I've gone on about this) and Ruthie (who was meant to be over the top). It really wasn't until like season 40-something that they really started yucking it up (specifically Alan and Chris). That said, it certainly...

HBO Max to debut Sesame Street Seasons 51-55 and stream episodes from 50-year library

All the new stuff will hit PBS too, probably in the same 9-month window deal-thing.

HBO Max to debut Sesame Street Seasons 51-55 and stream episodes from 50-year library

Per the press release: "A broad collection of Sesame Street episodes selected from the past 50 years – many available to the public on-demand for the first time ever." So, no, not every episode, but a bunch of 'em.

Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

I've been to only a handful of these events, and really, they aren't often full houses (sad, but true).

Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

I assume they get things from SW on a "We need this" basis; I doubt Sesame just handed over their entire archive over to them. At the most recent MOMI event, they had a bunch of Sesame clips of varying quality - some were clearly taken from some of the DVDs while some of the newer stuff in HD...

Sesame Street "Lost and Found" at the Museum of the Moving Image with Rosemarie Truglio and Norman Stiles November 24, 2019

Keep in mind, this is really a Jim Henson Legacy-run thing, not a Sesame-run thing. And they've done these types of events before - a few years ago they had a great screening of just random Henson stuff they had recently remastered into HD (and it looked Bee-utiful).
