Walter is by far the most generic looking Muppet ever, perhaps bordering on looking out of a Henson influenced kid's show...however, given the geniuses writing this I think that may be the point. He's suppose to be plain looking as can be... I have no doubt it will be his personality and drive...
What upsets me is this stupid fad Hot Topic, Target, Walmart, and every "geek/pop culture" shirt retailers do where they sell shirts that look intentionally faded/cracked/well worn. I refuse to buy any of those shirts.
Also I found that if you buy a blank shirt(black, blue, yellow, etc) you...
You havent been to Toys R Us or a comic store lately have you? They have a ton of Pook a Looz looking DC characters in plush form, complete with the button looking eyes.
Remember, the "Disney" part of the Marvel marketing and such won't get going for some time.
Well I knew the Muppet selection in 2010 would be paltry at best. There may be a few new knick knacks for Christmas retail season soon, we're not going to see the wealth of *quality* Muppet stuff til next spring/summer I predict. And sadly not as much as Disney parks will get
I personally...
Im soooo hoping for a Vince Vaughn and Seth Rogen cameo!
You kidding me? Scott Pilgrim is probably not just one of the best live action video game/comic movie of this generation, but its truly an anthem to youth everywhere much like Grease or John Hughes and other youth zeitgeist films were...
Your thoughts lately on all this remind me of something I proposed years ago on here: I had two ideas for Muppet films. One in which the Muppet gang was working in a dot com/tech company(which I guess now would be a facebook or google type place) and the opening scene would be like the madcap...
Just got wind of a pretty spiffy new shirt out, this one with Statler and Waldorf with the words "Haters Gonna Hate":
http://www.bustedtees.com/hatersgonnahate
You'll also recall the "I appreciate the muppets on a deeper level than you" shirt(which I have!)...
Sweet! Zach was on my list of "who should have a cameo" actors that I wrote up. I had a feeling he'd be in it. Im sure a lot of the familar Segal/Stoller and Apatow crew will be in it too.
Yeah I can see arguments against them being Muppets. Bad Andy is tricky, as he never really officially made it in the Muppet canon
Has he appeared in any Muppet stuff as a cameo? I know other creature shop characters have
Given the Henson "look" has pretty much become the standard
for...
Is it a good game? I remember in the late 90's I tracked down Muppets Inside on ebay, and absolutely loved it. I wonder if itd work on windows 7 though, maybe through an emulator? I have an emulator that runs xp as well as windows 95 and DOS.
Cool news, thanks! I never went to the Disneystore in SF, but it sounds like the new one is centrally located. I'll definitely check it out next time I take a day trip there soon. I just miss the old 2000-2005 Metreon days!
Oh it rocked, got the muppet mugs for 2 bucks each, the pook a looz...
Grouper(Muppets Tonight), Behemoth(TMS/Muppets Tonight),
Uncle Deadly(TMS), Mad Monty and Polly Lobster(MTI), Phil Van Neuter(Muppets Tonight)
Wait, did you mean human villains?
As Dr Tooth would be better fitted to make a diatribe on this, but this film needs to have a very real world/outside of a movie lot soundstage feel. Its how the first three felt, even Follow that Bird. Muppets From Space and Very Muppet Christmas just felt like they were filmed on lots, same...
Yeah they were apart most the film...heck, Buzz isnt exactly Buzz for most of it. And that big baby, ugh...that just wasnt right. The look of the film was beautiful, especially the hue of it. I just felt rather unnerved by the whole thing. The saving grace though was the ending and the credits...
So Hurcules, good? I saw Great Mouse, Rescuers, Oliver, etc when I was little.
Btw, I finally Toy Story 3 yesterday, waited for it to come to the cheap theaters and boy...was that rather creepy, unsettling and not the best movie for kids. Though I did love the Totoro character addition...
You know, I never saw any of the mid-late 90's Disney tentpole summer animated films. When the revival hit with Little Mermaid I was hooked. I couldnt get into Beauty and the Beast but I respected its artistry. Aladdin I absolutely loved. Lion King, well now that's just in a league of its own...
So...it's the same as the 2003 dvd release, minus the Inside The Actor's Guild spoof with Pepe? And with a random throwaway Christmas carol cd with no relation... hmmm
It's like, I never rebought the Muppet movie when Disney released it, as they stripped the dvd of all the cool bonus...
Man I'm feeling those butterfly goosebumps just *thinking* about the teaser posters we'll be seeing lining local cinema walls, as well as a teaser trailer.
The fact the film's two main human stars are two big up and comers is insanely cool. All they need to do is add Zach...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: "fans" who only or primarily see the Muppets as purely the 70's Muppet Show era/early 80's or "classic period" and refuse to enjoy or acknowledge anything post JH are not real fans. They are what continues the perception of "Oh the Muppets, they're old...
I think we can agree it's all coming to a head next year. Seven years after the house of mouse bought the frog, we'll finally be seeing the full weight of Disney pushing our beloved characters to heights not seen in some time(and most likely even new heights never imagined)
So what do we know...
