It's been ten years since Muppetfest in Santa Monica, California. Who here says it's time to have another big Muppet fan gathering? Star Wars, Trek, even Firefly fans have official gatherings all the time.
With the D23 expo across from Disneyland coming up in late August, you know they're going...
Oh man, I love the attitude with this one. This is essentially a big middle flipper to anyone who said the "muppets are dead", "the muppets are baby stuff", "the muppets died when JH died", etc. I just love the attitude oozing from this hangover spoof. They even have the shades of gansta...
I don't even think Segal wants his usual ultra sexual/raunchy Apatowish material anywhere near this film, even in a reference.
He seems to be going out of his way to make a truly wholesome irreverent "harkening back to the classics" experience.
There is definitely a concern about just how...
There's no doubt we'll get the pvc sets/ Though hey, wait when's the Star Wars figures coming out? I want like Hog Solo!
Last year's November flagship didn't get much toy merch, probably due the thinking it should be more girl merch related...Princess and the Frog didn't get much either...
And that's just one video! Search "Green with envy trailer" and "the muppets trailer 2011" and THEN add up all the views on all the minute and a half teaser trailer videos:)
Reading DW's post above me, it reminds me of when I first joined Muppet Central Forums in November 1998...had no idea it would be THIRTEEN years to the day almost that I'd have to wait for the glorious return of the Muppets(ok, sure later the next year we had MFS...but that ultimately wasn't as...
Looking back, people had way too much unrealistic expectations with the Palisades line, and I'm surprised it got as far as it did(sadly, train crashing with the Sweetums web exclusive sold on some rinky dink shady site)
It's embarrassing looking back at how people endlessly complained about...
Of all the specials/dtv stuff, LTS is the only one that actually looks like a theatrical film(as much as AVMMCM was twice as long) Why it was so truncated, I'll never know.
I really love LTS for some reason, but also find it frustrating how short it is. MWOO I refuse to ever watch again...I...
Ouch....
What is up with that? I know this isn't a holiday themed movie and feels much more like a summer release, but still...that's a bit of a wait:(
Oh totally, this is what they did with Toy Story 3. They made the big Palisades sized TS3 figures, small "buddy hero" size packs, 4" action figure versions, Disney pvc gift packs, Kinect figures, etc.
Pretty much virtually every size and scale imaginable.
Here's hoping the Diz does the same!
If Rowlf is indeed being performed by Bill, then I can understand the lack of Pepe. Scooter finally found his perfect voice at the end of Bohemian Rhapsody, so I'm sure Rowlf will be back to good form. I mean yeah, truth be told it wasn't right Rowlf and Scooter were relegated to the storage...
Dear goodness, Thog IS HUUUUGE. Was he this big on TMS? He makes Sweetums look little.
Anyways...
Well as expected, the people behind AICN are super excited(I agree with them, this and Tree of Life are my two most anticipated films this year) most the "talk back" folks are severely hating on...
Exactly. I wouldn't buy any figures myself if they strictly only went the big route.
I got flamed in 2001/2002 for saying how there needed to be smaller scale figures to include more characters and have cheaper price points. Thankfully a year later Palisades answered with the 3'4" pvcs...
All about this scale baby!

Though strangely I seem to be the only Muppet fan on here who seems...
Well, you do see the top of walter's hair in one shot, and a number of other things that definitely seem from the muppet portion of the film. There may have been a few teaser exclusive shots.
In a way I think this is more impacting than if there was the obligatory 30 second graphic logo...
Hey if this trailer doesn't give you goose bumps, you ain't a real muppet fan:) You can download the 1080p blu ray quality trailer as an mp4, just copy this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuVqMSIL2W4 into http://keepvid.com/
I got a lot of screencaps from it:)
Only a few "obscure"...
Haha, I love the spoof advertising...check out the "official" site

Perfect way to start off the madness! The "Muppet...
Hopefully a lot was changed from it, as I was not blown away or completely moved by it. Chances are they came up with a wholly new script while still retaining the basic framework.
If there's any JHH characters in it, I'll be beyond happy^_^
I think Im probably the only person on MC here who could care less if the Halloween special is ever made(never cared for Halloween myself), and Season 4...eh...it'll come if it's meant to be. Til then, you know where to find all the episodes(as well as of Muppet Babies, Muppets Tonight, JHH...
