NBC was pretty much done with the show around the time, and with Saturday morning cartoons in general. That explains the quality of the clip show and the subsequent 3rd season.
Where would TV shows be without the budget-saving potential of the clip show?
In the old days before reruns, DVDs, and the Internet, clip shows was more tolerated and allowed people to re-live moments from their favorite episodes, but nowadays it's seen as cheap. This thread is to discuss the...
If there's another good thing about both live-action movies, it's Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, who was so perfectly cast that it's no wonder he became his new VA since Mystery Inc. Linda Cardellini was also nicely cast as Velma, though she voiced Velma's rival Marcie "Hot Dog Water" Fleach in the...
Hollywood is just too blinded by money to think straight.
Not to mention the severe edits made in post-production, to the point where they cut out a major human villain from the film. Even I, a grown man, felt confused by the plot.

I still haven't lost faith in Pixar. One serious dud that's still better than a lot of other third-party movies at the time, one troubled production that I admire more for what it tried to do than what it actually did, and one prequel with a wonderful message that still turned out far better...
Oh, you mean the episode that tricks you into thinking it's about a shuffleboarding contest only to throw it out the window and instead have Sponge and Pat go around committing chaos with no repercussions in the end? I'm glad they missed that opportunity.
