Does anybody know if this is going to be like the Labyrinth comics? I thumbed through one and the inside art did not rise to the level of the cover art (different artists, happens a lot). The story also seemed like too much of a departure from the source material. :grouchy:
I know the same...
Logo is a cable network that caters to the gay market. Think Lifetime, but the same demographic (he he). Hey, I'm allowed to make that joke. ;)
They have some new original programming. One new animated program contains figures that resemble the Fischer Price "Little People" in their own Will...
Great design! I very much liked the simplicity of your original site, and the new version incorporates the best of the old with some new glossiness and better ease of use. Again, great job! :)
It appears henson.com has re-launched with a slighly new look. It's an improvement with room for tweaks here and there. I'd just like to see more content.
Puppet Up and Tinseltown seem to be getting the most press here. And the company is using the old "ha!" Henson Associates logo for Henson...
Puppets Revealed For Tinseltown!
Thought I'd bump this thread up again seeing that Henson.com relaunced with a new blub and photo on Tinseltown. It's a thin line they will be walking here, but I think it has promise. :)
Link to Henson.com's Tinseltown Press Release ;)
This perplexes me. If it is successful then why change it? Maybe they will be retooling it into a new thing - High School Musical The Magazine. Just kidding! Although, I just don't get the popularity of the shows. I suppose it's not geared to my age bracket, but even so - I appreciate a good...
I have been taking particular note of the Animal puppet as he appears in The Muppet Show Season Two. :halo:
Sure, the Master Replica poser will need to be broken-in a little bit, but as he is, it appears that there aren't many issues I have with it. Everyone remembers each puppet a different...
At least we know the Memphis photos will give the frog some justice. Kev will probably see to that. I'd like to see what happens if/when Fozzie, Animal and the gang make their travels. :o
The Grimace Continues. Seriously, What's With That?
:) Can some sort of email be sent to the Kermit handlers in order to remedy this? The scrunched-face is fine in moderation, but this tour and the photos are no fun with him looking so displeased in every shot.
I posted my comments...
A Native Houstonian's & Muppet Fan's Perspective
I have lived in beautiful San Francisco for over 12 years, but Houston, Texas will always be my home. I have to admit to being a little disappointed in the limited photo locations, but that's not my real complaint - his grimaced face continues...
I have to admit, these sets are really underwhelming. There were actually some very thoughtful boxed set treatments of Labyrinth and Dark Crystal a couple years ago.
Here's a webpage on the past Dark Crystal set
And here's one forum entry about the specs of the Labyrinth set
These...
YouTube's New Tacky Transparent Ad Experiment
Now it appears that YouTube is going to start enbedding transparent ads (kind of like a crawl...or what Fox does on its shows) at the bottom of selected clips. No word on how these clips will be selected.
My solution is this - when asked by...
Oh, I completely agree about the sculpts. They are quite good, but they could be better. The bright colors on the busts are what surprised me the most.
I remember when Palisades passed on the Dark Crystal stuff. They couldn't get enough stores interested in merchandise after the creepy...
I live in a loud neighborhood. Subtitles and closed captioning are often accompany the sound while I watch movies - so I can hear over the "colorful" people of San Francisco's tenderloin/red-light district. :o
Anyhew, speaking of the weird activation of subtitles (though I haven't noticed it...
Well, the first ever-green five are easy.
Kermit
Fozzie
Gonzo
Piggy
Animal
Now a traditionalist might say Rowlf deserves the 6th slot. Muppet Show enthusiasts could say Scooter and I wouldn't disagree with that either. However, it seems Rizzo and Pepe have slid into that sixth slot...
Disney (Mickey etc.) Figures in Toy Fare Magazine
Not sure if anyone has posted this, but the latest issue (10th anniversary) Toy Fare magazine includes pictures of the Disney Star Wars characters. I hope the Muppet ones won't be too far off.
The Disney ones look rather good. There's a...
I believe there is much more to puppetry than voice-matching. I also think Bill Barretta does a great job with Rowlf. Teeth etc. I do, however, think he should work on distinction between the characters' laughs. This is where they often sound similar and have that Pepe laugh with a bit of Bobo...
I'm not sure if I understand the question. To the average Henson fan (rather than the average toy collector - not that one can't be both, of course) the busts are high-end when talking about expense and the sliding scale from pvcs, figures to busts and statues. Therefore busts themselves are...
