My best Animated Films List. These aren't the films I like, they are films I love. :flirt:
1 Who Framed Roger Rabbit (it counts many times over) :)
2 The Little Mermaid (the last great cel animated film)
3 The Secret of Nimh (innovative non-Disney)
4 The Incredibles (an altogether great...
You know, I once thought the idea of commercially sold Muppet poser puppets was far-fetched and would never happen so anything is possible. I agree with you. I do like my Gonzo. I was just adjusting his pupils again. But I think there will be a lot of grade A Muppet stuff from Disney in the...
It is the odd random creature appearances (penguins, monsters, frackles) that make the Muppets Muppety! I would like to see their return.
I do have a question - would he, or any of the writers, be interested in bringing characters like Uncle Deadly back? It is my assumption that Jerry Juhl...
The doozer's hands and arm position are bugging me. It does appear that his arms are articulated, but this prototype is stiff looking and the hands don't look like they're planning on getting any workin' done. Very un-doozer-like behavior. :busy:
I still hope they rethink the blind boxing...
Finally someone is making Dark Crystal figures instead of busts, statues or over-priced vinyl conceptual art masquerading as a figure of the Dark Crystal motion picture. I like Neca’s treatment of the Labyrinth property more than what I’ve seen of MINDstyle’s work with Dark Crystal and the...
Oooh! Nice sculpt. I do hope that's a larger-scaled prototype or are the Doozers going to be the same size as the Fraggles? :coy:
However they are acual size for Doozers in real life I guess. :busy:
Television really is the best venue for puppets. It's just the right size, framing and intimate format to communicate to an audience. That can get lost in the expanse of movie screen and tweaky internet streaming speed can step on comedic timing and lose the nuance that television so easily...
Thanks. I just used my plastic stencil set and placed it over his existing pupils to find which circle best fit before scraping them off and cutting the new ones. Easy peasy. ;)
I'm still trying to get them just right. I find myself looking to movie stills rather than poser pics for the eye...
:grouchy: Whether it's the Biggest Loser - pretending to encourage health and weight loss, but actually about laughing at overweight people, Survivor - pretending to be a strategy game, but really about malicious scantily clad people debasing themselves and each other, or again hour long dramas...
Also, just name me some stars that have worked with more famous people than the Sesame Street cast or the Muppets? There's no need to go to TMZ to get the dirt on celebrities when you can watch them sing a song about dirt with Oscar the Grouch! :grouchy: :insatiable:
The culture of entertaiment has moved from stage to silver screen to television to cable to home video and now to dvr, the internet and the ipod. Television isn't dead, it simply is turning into what theater and film became when television came around. What Disney is doing with muppets.com is...

Gonzo Photo Set
Still working on the focus a bit. Also painted the lid shell and painted the green lids to make them match. I may tweak the color a bit, but I'll see how I like it in a few days...
Posted this image in the other thread. I am still tweaking the pupils, but I did Animal also! I also painted the lid shells on Gonzo and will lighten the green lid lip a little too - eventually. Had to paint the shell first to make pupil placement more accurate. :concern:
I encourage anyone...
Pupil Cuts
:wisdom: Oh sweeeet! MuppetCaper recommended this black flocked adhesive paper from scientificsonline.com. Along with a varied size circle stencil set I picked up at a local art supply store and pair of sharp scissors I replaced Gonzo's pupils! It makes such a world of difference...
By the way, thanks Caper. My pupil material came today and I now have a much better Gonzo. I'll post pictures soon. I especially like how there's some "give" to the adhesive so the dot can be tweaked after placement. I'm still "zen"-ing where they should end up.
Also working on painting the...
I really like my Gonzo. Didn't think I would.
I don't simply like Gonzo because it's "the best they could do" I like him in spite of his flawed nose netting. He's pretty sweet once you get him. Yeah, I'm not keen on the method chosen, but even so I don't feel like I'm "settling".
