While I still favor the initial concept art on Sid this latest version appears to hold more promise than the last update. That one looked like Sid had been drinking too many corn syrupy juice boxes. What I really want to see is this CG puppet in action! The other characters look pretty good too...
To be competitive they probably are going to start serving pasta. The name change? Well, if they've truly been in business for over 50 years that's a bad idea. Personally I don't eat much of either because both pizza and pasta turn me into a narcoleptic within 30 minutes. Still, it's good to see...
There is another thread on this, but I'll comment here as well. It's an interesting product.
When the Palisades figures were first announced many fans wanted and expected just straight, non-articulated PVC sculptures (like the old 70s Schleich Muppet Show assortments or cheaper versions of...
:super: I see some Jhonen Vazquez style thrown in the puppety Muppety mix here and that's a good thing! Great puppet! I'd give his show a viewing on the impressive puppet quality alone. I like the conceptual art a lot, but I like the final piece much better. You really have allowed the character...
I'm a fan of the Clash. :o
I just like the sound of the word supermarket. It just screams Frosted Flakes, Tang and colorfully iced pastries to the kid in me. Not that I'd ever eat any of those things today. Ah, nostalgia. When sugar was my favorite food group and googly-eyed monsters didn't...
I could see JP paired up with a human Texas oil tycoon like Tommy Lee Jones or a Larry Hagman type. Something happened to the paperwork protecting the historical theater or there is some sort of loophole like where the historical portion of the land is divided. I know, getting a little geeked...
Agreed. That logo is the right mix of old and new. The classic font is modified, but it clearly says "Muppets" to me. The new one with the round holes in the "P"s is just ugly and too kid-friendly.
Here's a page of logos I have collected with two quickly modified versions to suit the new...
No tube tops either...please! He he.
Being from Houston, Texas I can understand just how nasty the heat and humidity can be. I remember having to start my car to crank the AC and go back inside for 5 minutes before hopping back in and driving to school or work. I feel for anyone in hot...
Wow! This was Fox's highest theatrical grosser last year and this is how they treat the DVD release? I'd say you are right about a Christmas edition this holiday season.
Inserts are becoming a thing of the past with many DVD releases. Printing is more expensive than is thought. I'm surprised...
Yeesh! I don't like this thread, but understand its place. I took my hiatus from the forum and focused on other things for a while. It's what I had to do and I see that's probably the case with some members who have recently left. I still hope it isn't forever, but it's a big world out there and...
The Muppets really need no official reintroduction. The character concepts and relationships are so elegantly simplistic that the audience should get it right away - from the writing and performance.
I mean: Kermit = "the glue" and patient head frog
Fozzie = "bad jokes", floundering comedian...
Still, I'd very much like to see these (fake) games. I think it was established a while back that these kind of joke threads are okay as long as they are in the games or friends and family sections. It generally has the same outcome, but less of a let-down because of placement.
Anyway, I'd...
Yeah, it really can be hit-or-miss over there, but they do have a generally good track record when compared to other such sites. The "rumored" remark held for things not 100% confirmed makes me hopeful, but as always I take this stuff with a grain of salt. However, I do think it has some...
:insatiable: April Fool's Day Menu :p
The Muppet Central menu opens up as usual (red arches adorned with light bulbs and pillars) but one thing is different. Everything is upside down!
The bottom links and the dates are fine, but the usual yellow and white Muppet Central logo and the...
Years ago in this very thread I stated, "[Clifford] grew on me. First like a bad wart, then like a cute little freckle. Was that too graphic? :D " I stand by that for the most part.
Clifford was kind of fun on the Henson Hour, but I used to find him needlessly more ethnic-influenced than the...
You know, that seems to be a logical place to start. How the developers will get around the Muppet Theater being listed as an historical building is cause for some concern. I guess big oil has deep pockets!
The NBC Christmas special had two stories - the fight over the theater - and Kermit's...
