I love Pepe and believe him to be the best post-Jim Muppet addition prawny hands down! It's almost like he was always there, but we just didn't see him or he was out with the ladies!
That being said, there's a substancial group that doesn't like the little fella. Some is due to his tone...
Perspective, I suppose...
I was probably considered emo in my teens and twenties, but personally I never categorized myself as anything. I was more kind of a mix of early David Bowie alternative glam, club boy and goth. It was never about a particular attitude, religion or lifestyle with me...
I love the site as is, but if I were the designer...
All that being said, I still would have made the site look and feel a little different personally and clips chosen and organized differently as well. But that's my particular take. This serves its purpose better than any official Muppet site...
I see this as a good start. Let's face it; most entertainment sites aren't very well designed. This one has substance, somewhat frequent updates and an attractive enough style that relates to the rest of the Disney umbrella of properties. I see this as Kermit sticking his flipper in the water...
I still say the Muppets' legs were cut out from under them (so to speak ;) ) because many executives didn't want anything to do with Eisner's pet projects. Once he'd been gone a while there just wasn't enough momentum to start things up. Now there is. They just kind of got lost in corporate...
Should Be Easy Peasy To Find (here's some help)
:coy: Here's a list of the offerings from Amazon :scary:
Any Best Buy, Circuit City, Virgin Megastore or Blockbuster, should have one of these in stock and usually on sale. If not they will likely order one per your request.
Dark Crystal...
Oooh, I like the ventriloquist part. And now the theater is a "studio", wonder if that's the same thing? There's also the error of stating that Disney owns all of JHP when they just own the Muppets, Babies and Bear. It does tend to confuse some that the bulk of Jim Henson's work is owned by four...
I wonder if it is an intentional exclusion or the lack of resources of Henson Co? This sequel is definitely a departure in style and substance of the original. There was no getting around that in my opinion. The question is - just how much and is that why fans are being kept out of the loop...
I had a great time Kev! I wish it were a longer trip. :sympathy: And the Mule was in top form! (Even with Ian's roommates' hedonistic friends). I sent you an email this morning. I felt bad having to hop back in the house so quickly. :) I could have chatted all night. Can't wait to read about...
It was very funny. Actually our very own Kevin and Muley were with me in San Francisco when that scene spontaneously popped on the television! Talk about kismet...:)
I must say that both men and icons are very important in the world of entertainment and have proved to be quite philanthropic.
That being said, Jim Henson and the Muppets have always had a more personal touch. You could actually meet Kermit (or a Muppet) in person (if you were so lucky) and...
Nope. These posers are beautiful, but they are stuffed articulated doll forms (for lack of a better term) of the characters. I believe that Disney nixed the idea of having puppets in order to protect their investment in the Muppet franchise. Smart move on their part, but disappointing to some...
Hmmm. We'll see, but there might be some Gonzo pictures coming from me soon if today's excursion works out. :concern:
However, Kev is in the city today! If the infamous mule is handy I might just get a fantastic shot! :o
Either way, it's just cool that Kev is in the bay area! :)
My friend Sean gave me these beautiful Oscar Kubricks as a birthday gift. I see them as Lego"ish" representations of the Sesame character in Andy Warhol paint combinations of 70s colors. There's the classic paint and six other versions. I like that Orange Oscar is included here. I really am...
Almost missed this post. I never said Frank was weaker in the voices - rather that his strength as a performer was mainly in the physicality. The movements of his characters usually outshined everybody. One does not need to be weak in one area to be stronger in another. Hope to make that clear...
Jim Henson showed weird priorities when introducing new Muppets for the Henson Hour. I kind of rest much of the post Jim path for the Muppets on that decision from the master himself. :)
Digit was cool, but he nearly replaced Bunsen (both performed by Goelz, of course). Clifford was a kind...
