Empire acquires rights to Jim Henson screenplay

Well any Jim Henson film of quality and accuracy would have to go through the Henson Legacy first, then it would likely filter through the Henson Company (a separate entity) that would likely bring in Sesame Workshop and then finally Disney would have to endorse use of the Muppets. For a while...

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

I always forget, but anyone that hits a broken link at Muppet Central sees my Crazy Harry.

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Thanks. I keep checking. Don't get me wrong, I am excited about this. The backgrounds, color and page design look great as does some of the character design. That Janice looks groovy. :flirt: I am concerned over Kermit, Fozzie and Miss Piggy a little bit too. I am also very curious about...

Year of the Frog Awareness Ad

It just seems so needless and nit-picky. This discussion has gone from a 30 second bit on frog awareness to ending the Muppets over it. The forum really isn't a democracy - it's just friendlier than most others. Some posts in this thread have crossed lines in the forum guidelines. I remember...

Year of the Frog Awareness Ad

I remember our family driving an old gas-guzzling station wagon with seatbelts permanently lodged in the cushion cracks. That was my childhood. I also remember there being a lot more litter. Also a funky fact is that there was no alcohol driving laws in Texas when I was a kid. A parent could...

Year of the Frog Awareness Ad

He he. Beware of what happens when you kiss this frog. :)

Year of the Frog Awareness Ad

It's a froggin' good ad in my opinion! It's fun, quick, to the point, in character and very cute. The pig joke is right on the mark especially for an ad aiming for wide appeal. The girl asked for the kiss. We fans often over think things. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this spot. :)

Tales of the Great Gonzo (ideas for a graphic novel)

Wow. I didn't think these stories would be so well received! The first one is my personal favorite in that it focuses on the origin of the Muppet Show and Kermit's rise as well, but there are fun opportunities for character interaction built-in for each of the tales. I kind of see Nanny...

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Aw (blushes). Shameless plug for the Gonzo concept I was speaking about. :concern: I still think the reason Gonzo's nose has always been blue has to do with limited color choices from the 70s and early 80s. Now everything is lasers, specific shades and gradient colors. Disney seems to have...

Tales of the Great Gonzo (ideas for a graphic novel)

It will be a long while before tackling such a task, but recently I was inspired to create a collection of origin stories for Gonzo and assemble the conflicting tales in a comic book. As a fan I took issue with the Gonzo alien idea of Muppets From Space. In Juhl's original treatment of the film...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

Gonzo's always been sort of a "love the one you're with" fella when it comes to the chicks. :concern:

    :p Happy Birthday! :(

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

I think the name was already there before the action figure. At the time I remembered Gonzo calling out the name Bernice among other names of chickens, but I could have been wrong about that and just used the name of Bert's pigeon pal on Sesame Street. That's more likely. Either way, Henson...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

Thanks. My wijits are actually influenced by the Fraggles, but they don't sing songs, speak their own language, they have teeth and eat whatever's handy. So...um I guess they're nothing like the Fraggles except maybe in my mind. There are five of them. That's something. I would have said...

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Redsonga and I have been chatting about some ideas. I thought several different, but none official, Gonzo origin stories would make a nice comic book collection. Kind of like the Joker's ambiguous origins in the Killing Joke. Nobody knows for sure what story is real. That's how I still feel...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

I actually like these Gonzo origin story ideas so much that I'm thinking of making my own little mini comic of them. I really don't need another project, but you know - Muppet energy's got to go somewhere! I am an artist so handling both parts wouldn't be too difficult (sample art of what one of...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

Here's a little dilemma. I'm in total agreement with this thread in that now is a great time to be a Muppet fan, but there's a couple of "official sources" over at the Newsflash forum reporting trouble with the DC ratings and rumored axing of Segel's Muppet film. The wet blanket posters of...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

I'm the opposite of that I guess, but we know that already. I made that stairs thing up. I thought you knew that. Eeek. I'm sorry. That's one of the rationalizations my mind made up for Gonzo's origin. I personally would like to see Gonzo's origins chronicled in completely different ways in...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

I have to admit to personally finding MFS and KSY to be pretty bad when compared to what I deem the classics and the recent SDC did little more for this old fan than to wave some classic Muppets around a bit. But then I see the interviews and web segments of late and believe that's what we'll be...

Return to Labyrinth vol 3 cover art

I have to agree. I wouldn't know what this was if not for the title. That's not a good sign. It's attractive, but not very Hensony.
