I always find it confusing breaking down film grosses because of all the variables, but here goes with the estimates to date:
ALL TIME BOX OFFICE:
WORLDWIDE GROSSES
29- The Dark Knight $735.0 (#1 Titanic $1,842.9)
DOMESTIC GROSSES -most industry people reference this figure
02- The...
:zany: A brief digression. I tend to agree with the Henson Legacy’s links page that references Tough Pigs as a "great, snarky fan site – for more adult audiences." I stop there every several days, but the snark-factor can be too potent for my taste. Snark doesn't automatically yield honesty, but...
Aw. I'm glad someone agrees. That's what I feel is happening now. In the years of EMTV and Henson ownership a good idea or two would come out with the Muppets and then there would be insufficient follow through. Disney's covering all the bases. ;)
Thanks. I'm glad that it went over well. That's sort of how I always thought a fig would look like in Muppet form.
I might just explore different colors and genders for them. :)
I just joined the facebook group too! :coy:
Many times DVD packaging can be garrish so at least this is a handsome Fraggle set. (I still think it houses the individual boxes stacked two-per-side.)
As long as it is going to be an irregular shape I agree they should have gone for a more...
It looks like a very attractive brick. I'm sure they'll work a little magic with embossing and internal design. I actually like the card boxes they previously released. They might not be ideal, but they were creative. Here's hoping there's more that meets the eye with this one too.
The outer...
I agree. Anything to make it more classic and Muppety. The site is attractive, but much of the architecture doesn't quite reflect the Muppets the way I think it should. That and the depiction of closed doors (even when they are opened they are closed) isn't a good tactic. Just my design...
In order to get back on topic and clarify things after the merge I thought it might be best to briefly iterate our view on the recent Muppets.
State of the Muppets: Good to fair & rising with a chance of slightly cloudy DC projects that will quickly pass resulting in golden rays of Muppets...
Thanks. I just couldn't stand the original art and decided to do something about it. I just took screen captures from the DVD extracted them from the background, cleaned them up and worked some graphic magic of my own to create this more recognizable grouping that seems more classic and Muppety...
Well, then go for it. I'd hate to quote a Kevin Costner movie, but if you build it (and the thread interests people) they will come.
The bulk of posts on this thread are about the topic of age appropriateness of Sesame Street appreciation. There’s no need to tear down one thread to support...
Can it even be undone?
I propose we go back to 2 threads.
-State of the Muppets: Bleak (by frogster)
-State of the Muppets: Good (by theprawncracker)
This gives both threads distinct differences from the titles that reflect the content.
Prawnie - if you started your own thread again...
:o First off I must report having great respect for emergency services that risk their lives to keep us safe. I fully support the fire departments and the men and women who have chosen this heroic occupation. We have seen their great works in Manhattan, New Orleans and many other areas that are...
All fans seem to want is a choice. As cool as the series set appears to be - nobody was asking for it. I was natural to assume HiT would continue the same strategy they started before considering a repackaged series. The way they are releasing this material dishonors the longtime supporters that...
The expensed isn't bothersome. There was a time when all we Fraggle fans were pleading with a company to release this series. HiT tested the waters with sample videos that contained a few episodes before releasing season sets and I don't fault them for that. It makes good marketing sense. But...
Laughter keeps the clouds away!
:super: Kids are fearless by nature because they don't know any better. As we grow we are taught to fear and worry about aspects of life - most of which we cannot control. It's easier to get the job done with a smile on your face than a scowl - whether it's...
I suppose it's been out of print since the Disney deal. I remember mocking up a new cover (down at the foot of the Muppet Central review) for their icky one that made me want to be color blind! Feel free to copy it and print it out. I'm pleased it's still there.
The DVD content sure is good...
I still think Bear should have gotten his own movie. I guess there's just more money in the DVD market.
One thing I would like to see from the Muppets eventually is a crisp new transfer of The Muppet Movie on Blu-ray. Some of the newer ones are coming inside this beautiful slim booklet...
Green just pops. If Rowlf had become the top dog (in place of the main frog) I doubt he'd be brown. And then he wouldn't seem like the Rowlf we know. Kermit brightened up for color television and I think Rowlf would have too. However, he's just too relaxed for that spot. Kermit has the tendency...
