Great work. I would add one of the central gelfling features that even licensed artists get wrong is the noses. They don't have people noses, they have subtle gelfling noses.
I doubt anyone at Henson would mind your Fan Fic or RPG in fact they could probably use their fan-base now more than ever. :scary: Also, Henson is a very small company so I'm not sure how easy it will to contact them outside of their periodic podcasts. I would go with Redsonga's suggestions on...
I agree. The Master Card commercials were great. It offered the chance for the Muppets to be Muppets in the familiar setting of Manhattan. Those particular ads are about the individual lifestyle of the customer. I guess that's what works. The Pizza Hut commercials were more about dipping sauce...
What Disney is doing now seems to be working. Time will tell. We have never seen a push like this and early criticisms are premature. The Muppets have not "trolled" for an audience under this recent guidance as depicted in your MTM afro-wigged Kermit "sell the show" reference. That would be an...
I just don't think braining these young people over the head with what hasn't worked time and again isn't the solution. None of us can will these perceptions to be different. They must be coaxed.
This current multi-teared approach is new and aggressive, but Disney's rout with these younger...
I think it is best to "hit the reboot button" at the Segel Muppet movie deal, the YouTube/Muppets.com clips, Studio DC and the new Christmas special in the works. The Times article expresses a brand new push different than ever seen before with the Muppets (even in Jim's day).
The reason...
:attitude: Just for clarification - It is my belief that old only has to take a temporary back seat to new in this Disney Channel market in order to gain these particular younger viewers who have already been exposed to some advertisements of the old and rejected it. Other than that I am with...
I just remembered that NetFlix has given the Muppets great exposure for both the Muppets Take Manhattan and the Muppet Show Season Three. Both have been prominently featured in web and print ads that advertise NetFlix.
I suppose Disney's thinking with DC is they've already got the core fans...
Gonzo will make of the covers. I would like Scooter for the other cover, but I could also go for a Beaker or a shifty-eyed Sam. I think Rowlf is a longshot because a brown fuzzy box might not attract the eye as much. I also think a Dr. Teeth closeup would be cool! However, it's likely to be Animal.
Unfortunately older movies don't get much exposure in general. It’s not just Muppets. I think the "new classics" catch phrase on the TNT network best sums it up. That network replaces the airing of real classics with very recent popular films, yet still labels them classics. I remember Ted...
I meant that collectors need to see Fozzie Bear again *in person* at a convention. That is what created the best buzz. The idea of such a poser (from the past Gonzo and Animal pieces and photographs) has proven to be unreliable representations for such a top-dollar product. If MR sticks Fozzie...
Which ever puppeteer, Boyd or Rudman, I think it's important to assign Scooter a permanent and available peformer. I liked Brian's version, but he's aloof these days when it comes to Muppets. Every Muppet Show character that is seen in the smileys should have a permanent performer. ----->
Fozzie is not a priority or (even if successful) a good money-maker when compared to other MR items. There is a lack of interest in both customers and factories. I am going to say this in every post on this topic: MR should get their current poser prototype Fozzie in a room with collectors every...
I agree with that. :halo: There was so little advertising for all of these really. And we forget that Kermit did sell through, but he did take a lot longer than expected (well over a year). That shouldn't have happened. I will also never get over the poor photos of Gonzo and Animal. It was...
They called him "Hollywood Hulk Hogan" that was apparently his later incarnation of the wrestling character. I still don't understand the entertainment value of wrestling or its world so I'll just stop there.
Muppets from Space came out on July 14, 1999. It cost $24M to make, took...
That's exactly what this special does. Studio DC takes its crew of established or relatable stars and pairs them with the Muppets in order to connect the dots to younger viewers that there is something cool about the Muppets.
The Muppets then kind of navigate through the (albeit somewhat...
I never quite understood that either, but Piggy really doesn't sell as well when in a line with other Muppet characters. It's the unfortunate reality of the porcine goddess that is well known in merchandising. It is also something the Henson Company used to tell licensors. However, she does sell...
