The Fed Ex guy just delivered Ruby's Costume guide to the toy store where I work. We sometimes special order costumes for the avid collector. Well, I've seen the Muppet ones. (the cellphone snaps just expired...I'll have to upload them later.)
Here's the lowdown:
Kermit - Jacket with attached...
I missed that post. :o
Lucas is far from perfect these days, but he's always had a soft spot for Muppets, Jim Henson and Disney. I still think this delay has to do with timing. Buena Vista Home Video releases many things - the Muppet Shows are just one of them. I'm certain they want to...
My feeling is that this idea will float around in development for several years and one distant day it will get made. The quality of it will depend on how many fingerprints touch the final draft.
I really don't think it's the Star Wars episode. George Lucas and Lucasfilm have a great working relationship with Disney right now - an attraction in the theme parks along with Disney and Muppet Star Wars figures. It's interesting to speculate, but I just doubt that as the postponement factor...
Actually he started off with an aqua-colored nose that was more than one color so a solid dark purple nose would be incorrect in any legit interpretation. But then again, the nose sock isn't accurate either. It's about individual taste rather than accuracy.
My SE Alvarez cover version came today. It looks fantastic, but a bit expensive for me at $10 + shipping so it could be my last SE cover. Still, I'm very glad to have this one. Great job! :super:
He really is spectacular - especially with the easy peasy pupil tweak. It makes all the difference in the world. It's like he's looking right at you about to say something. :concern:
I have to agree with you with the waist-up portion of your critique. I don't find that a selling-point because it is inherently limiting and wasn't really that prevalent in Langridge's book.
But other than that I really did enjoy the first book. The particular character voices might not be...
Good point.
Even if this news is true, my thinking is that they are timing other DVD releases of Muppet materials rather than flooding the marketplace. Season 4 DVD probably isn't immediately ready for release and we know the Halloween special is likely to come out this fall on television and...
Who knows what will be in store? I hope they go fun and funky with it rather than make it about kids and trick-or-treating. Creepy Muppet monsters are a better way to go.
Palisades' Muppets line was acclaimed, but since the Muppets didn't have anything consistent (tv show or film) going Palisades figures started to sink after series two and never quite recovered. Stores have even less faith in Fraggles. The media projects really have to be around to support...
I've still been popping around here, but finally several issues have been sorted so that my time is going to be eaten up starting tomorrow through the end of the month. I'll still pop in and out, but I probably won't post so much. Took longer for things to get going. :o
I agree with that. In the end - environmental causes = human survival. The planet will get along without us or any organic life, but why should it when we can ingrain new simple behaviors in or daily lives that can massively help? I always find those folk that make the environment a partisan...
Thanks! I had a nice little birthday visit from my folks along with my partner Ian. We ate at my favorite vegetarian restaurant last night. I'm officially 35 now, but don't show it too much (thank frog). Now back to work in the store and tending to my high volume of client work. Had allergies...
There are some shots in the Muppet Show comic from the waist down as well. I believe the comics are a way to open up the Muppet world a little more and work to the strength of the drawn medium. Full body Muppets are good with me. Actually I prefer that. I believe the Robin Hood will have lots of...
I think it makes good business sense to have both. What HIT did killed their credibility. I can’t imagine Disney making that sort of misstep.
I would also like to see a 55th anniversary special of some sort. A Kermit roast could be fun.
On stage.
Oh, and I just ordered the Alvarez variant cover. I didn't like the Midtown cover that much as it appeared to be traced more than drawn like Dave's fantastic Meltdown cover. However, both Miss Piggys are fabulous.
The rough draft leak likely came from a secondary source though Henson. I'm sure future drafts will be better guarded. Either way, the Tough Pigs article was a good thing that generated interest. Cory Edwards reports that he would like to keep an actual production diary with video clips along...
