    Any Monty Python fans here?

No, that's not the Complaining Tourist. If you ever catch Monty Python at the Hollywood Bowl, there's an extended version of this skit with Michael Palin(Mr. Bounder, the travel agent) and Eric (Mr. Smoke Too Much, the complaining tourist). I won't give anything away, but worth checking out...

    Valerie Harper has brain cancer

She's a fighter and won't give up. Just like Mary Tyler Moore didn't give up on Type 1 Diabetes, neither will Valerie.

    Any Monty Python fans here?

Besides Flying Circus and the movies, Python also made some incredible albums back in the days when if you wanted to listen to music, you had to put these things called RECORDS on a PHONOGRAPH. (no CD's or iPods back in those prehistoric times). Some of the records contained bits from Flying...

    What are your secret fears?

Wow, needles and tornadoes have left quite a few scars on people... You know what also freaked me out when I was little? Popping balloons. I could not watch that Sesame clip where Grover pops Ernie's balloons with the sound on. Birthday parties??!!! Sooner or later somebody's balloon will go...

I can't believe they remade this.

I feel your pain. It's like "Sesame Street meets Baby Einstein". Same thing applies to music, like some feeble attempts to "update" some of Joe Raposo's classic tunes. The blandness chokes the life out of it.

R.I.P Bonnie Franklin (Ann Romaro from One Day at a Time)

A bunch of us were discussing this yesterday. One Day at a Time was a great show (one of Norman Lear's most underrated), Valerie Bertinelli was quite a hottie, but some of us absolutely HATED the theme song. But Bonnie and company addressed a lot of the hot topics of the day in a way that hit...

    Have you ever been bullied?

Very important topic. I started a thread about this last year, and a lot of us had to face the same dilemna you did. In my case, ignoring bullies doesn't make them stop. For me, it meant standing up for myself, even though it got me into the worst fight of my life, a bloody nose, and three...

    What are your secret fears?

Yes, monsters now are actually very tame. But back in Season 1, there were quite a few that were meant to be scary. A lot of them were holdovers from when the Muppets appeared on variety shows Ed Sullivan, Jack Paar, etc. Jim designed them, Don Sahlin built them, and Frank performed them. They...

    What are your secret fears?

I'm sorry people in full-body costumes give you the horrors. Does that mean you'll never go to Disney World? (There might be one or two there...) I mentioned this on another thread, but bears repeating. When I was little, watching Sesame Street, a lot of the monsters scared me (even a few...

    Dad getting sugery (Part III)

Psalm 55:22- Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you. 1 Peter 5:7- Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. Both of these came in handy when I needed them. I hope his surgery goes well and you find peace.

Silly things you said, did, or thought as a kid

When I was five my family went to see the 4th of July Parade. My brother and I each had a balloon, and we stood on the curb watching the parade march by. Suddenly my brother's balloon popped "BANG!!!!". I turned around and there was an old lady with a huge overbite and jagged, sharp buck teeth...

    Worst/creepiest puppets/puppeteer work

As far as characters in walkaround costumes go, the New Zoo Revue from the early 70's was as cheesy as it got. The performers must've had a line of vision of only two inches because they were constantly bumping into the scenery and knocking things over. The lessons taught on the show were very...
