(Scooter runs out onto stage holding a piece of paper.)
Scooter: I've just been asked to read a statement from the author. (clears throat) I, Muppet Newsgirl, do hereby disclaim any and all responsibility for any head injuries, rapid heart rates and/or terminal fits of giddiness that might be...
Act Two, Scene One:
They went along the rain-soaked sidewalk, Nora pedaling at a slow pace and Scooter riding next to her on his skateboard.
The two teenage Muppets soon began chatting nine to the dozen about everything: school, their jobs, their families and friends, what kind of music and...
Act One, Scene Three:
"What? Sent by mistake to Outer Mongolia…three months. All right, Mr. Harcourt, thank you." Scooter hung up the phone, wondered at the red tape involved with contractors, and started pawing slowly through the "Potential Guest Star" files as a group of pigs in traditional...
Very glad to hear you say so, Renee. I put all that stuff in at the beginning so that people who read Sadie's Stories wouldn't be confused by the apparently conflicting storylines and character arcs.
Of course, maybe I'm just overly cautious. Just ask my family; they'll drink to that.
I was going to save the next part for tomorrow, but since you asked so nicely...
Act One, Scene Two:
Later that afternoon, business was moderate down at the Coming Unbound bookshop and dramatic library on 33 West Henson Street, the main drag in the city. It was here that all the area...
Act One, Scene One:
It was a rainy, torrential Saturday morning in September, the kind best spent inside before a roaring fire. Or perhaps on a gondola traveling through the streets, if the rain got bad enough. The weather reports predicted flash flooding in some areas, and there were already...
Well, gang, I've decided to post a story of my own, contribute to the delightful state of madness on the forum. It's a mystery, a comedy, a slice-of-life vignette and assorted other stuff.
Kermit and the others are getting ready to present a new play, a musical loosely based on the legend of...
Why, Renee, you've changed your avatar yet again. And as I recall, that's from that one group shot of the Muppet crew, in which Karen Prell decides to park her right foot on Richard's shoulder.
Fleet Scribbler...he gives true, honest-to-goodness reporters a bad name. I think it's a wonder he...
Yeah, and at least another 20 for whoever's watching.
In other instances, at least five angels apiece for Kermit, Scooter and Robin when the Swedish Chef tried to do frog legs in the Lou Rawls episode of TMS...and six or seven for whoever's around when Crazy Harry blows something up...and...
In this day and age, a little divine intervention can't hurt. In the Muppet world, the fact that Kermit and the others haven't killed one another and that the theater hasn't completely collapsed is a testament to the existence of guardian angels. I just imagine they start working in overtime...
You're quite welcome, Renee. I definitely believe that God provides us with guardian angels.
It's also good to dream, and daydreaming is one thing I do exceptionally well. Maybe a little too well, sometimes.
I don't really know what to say, Renee, although I think Richard would be flattered to hear that you wish he was your dad.
Perhaps he's become your guardian angel? I can definitely picture that.
I'd say Scooter is at least fifteen, but no older than eighteen or nineteen. Still in high school.
I'm the assistant copy editor and a reporter for my college newspaper, and I certainly feel that if all the staff members were Muppets, I'd be Scooter. I'm one of the saner people there, but I'm...
Hurry up, Kermit, Scooter's in danger!
I don't know what was in that syringe, but it'd probably explain why Scooter winds up in the hospital in "The Search for Sadie." Maybe it contained the Hep C virus?
Oh, man. Scooter would stay behind with the jeep while the others went off. Eli would be hiding in the foliage near where the jeep was parked. Cruel, cruel fate, to allow such a nice young kid (Scooter) to end up the prisoner of such a nasty old man (Eli).
Lots of unpleasantness coming up. The ever-so-slimy Doc Hopper is still after Kermit, and he's not above getting rid of other frogs to do so...and Eli is once again after Scooter (you really start to hate Eli after a bit).
Let's see, what would I like to say?
Sadie's stories are a charming, heart-rending look at the private lives of the Muppets. The author does an especially fine job of giving us a look into the life and personality of our favorite red-haired, clipboard-carrying gofer, Scooter.
Now, about the...
Wait a minute, we are in the fan fiction slot. (Dunks head in bucket of ice water conveniently located next to desk)
I've got Kermit as Arthur, Miss Piggy as Guinevere, and Gonzo, Scooter and Fozzie as Lancelot, Galahad and Bedivere, respectively. I'd like to post it eventually.
