Question from anyone at LA Henson offices
I had asked this about a month ago but it was kind of a tacked-on question to an unrelated post, so since there's an active "fan mail" discussion thread going, i'll try again here...
...This is a question for any Henson insiders or anyone who has...
My 2 cents on the video/dvd release...
I feel strongly this is something that should be made available and the whole key is in HOW it's done...
If we're talking about an available-in-stores general release product, i doubt that would be the best avenue. It is possible to do so if marketed...
Regarding which skit in the Joel Grey episode is the "UK skit" both answers (Pachalafaka vs Sherlock Holmes) are in a sense "correct".
When the show was being made, Henson no doubt had Pachalafaka in mind as the UK skit given its nature and traditional placement in the show.
But when the...
Thanks for the info, both of you. The main thing behind my question was trying to keep an eye (and ear) out for puppets the two performed in voices of their own (instead of copying others) so i could get more of a feel of their individual voices (i'm very big on "voice-spotting") but the...
You can see a lot of my thoughts on Richard and his passing in the tribute section Phil gave the link to earlier but suffice to say out of all the immense talents that make up the Muppet performers, i think he would have been my alltime favorite. I understand the curiosity behind the questions...
Fran Brill is one of my fave performers and for someone who's one of the longtime veterans, there's not a lot of biographical info on her out there...even though she also has a notable second career as an actress...
Anyway, as i was on another forum (non-Muppet related) i saw the name "Fran...
As i mentioned in another thread, i've been "out of the mc loop" for awhile so i apologize for sitting on this and not announcing until now...but i figured someone else would have picked up on it and spread the word...but just in case (or as a reminder)...
SInce MuppetFest was such a blast...
In some of the press releases from JHC this last year where they're going into the biographical "about the company" info, among the more appearances they've cited the Muppets appearing on has been "Hannity and Colmes"...i never heard of The Muppets appearing on there and i have a hard time...
Well - after a bit of a hiatus from the board, i've made a resolution (and it's not even New Year's...but then if it was a NY resolution, i'd have to break it around Valentine's Day) to get caught up and be more active. Once the board started getting really hyper and active i fell behind and...
Well, Boober DOES wear a scarf along with the hat too...but still that is considerably less than what the other main Fraggles wear (note the word main - several of the background Fraggles don't wear anything.)
Boober being Boober, I don't think it's that he's into nudism as he is fear of...
If a movie was ever made of Calvin & Hobbes, i would only see it if it was total animation - a large part of C&H's humor was the absolutely spot-on drawings and priceless expressions BW got out of his characters - the writing and the drawings really enhanced and brought out the best in each...
Are you thinking of Johnny Fiama? Or perhaps Placedo Flamingo?
(My fave food varies depending on mood - but usual contenders are taco salads, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, lasagna, and when i'm really depressed...raw cookie dough)
Statler & Waldorf
The "Roy" thing is open to debate...it came from an early bit where Waldorf drowsily says something that sounds to some people like "Roy, wake me when the show starts" but i doubt it was meant to be Waldorf addressing Statler by the name Roy - but rather him making a sleepy...
Since i haven't been as active here lately, i don't know how many newer forum members we may presently have in the Phoenix AZ area...but if anyone is and would like some puppetry experience, please email me personally at dw_m@webtv.net as soon as you can.
The Grand Canyon Men's Chorale is doing...
I have a feeling Jerry probably dubbed his lines to other people's puppeteering...which would probably explain why some of his characters were voiced by him and others by new people...if you listen to Statler's very last line, it sounds like one that they either forgot to dub or left alone since...
Thanks for asking! Always nice to be thought of!
Things have been pretty hectic for me as of late...the last couple of months i've been in rehearsals for two shows (both recently finished) and am still actively seeking another job while working a yuchhy temporary one. It looks like i may soon...
