Thank you; it's the second story I've done on the AIDS Walk, so it's kind of my other present for Richard.
Well that's funny, I distinctly remember going down to the post with a check in my hand. There were witnesses...but I'll be a dear and guess for you.
The check has a plain...
And oh, what the heck, I was only teasing about the check, you know?
(looks around) We've still got some leftover sorbet that the rats haven't gotten to; guess I'll take it back over to the RHLC HQ.
Uh-HUH. All right, sunny Jane, tell me what color the check's background is, what amount is written on the check and what the handwriting looks like. :smirk:
School's not back in session yet and I've already got my first paper assignment. But it's a good one...and kind of appropriate. It's...
Right, and Robin and Sweetums, and Gunge and the Trash Heap, and Gobo and Junior Gorg...okay, so we're sorta pushing it on that.
Yeah, Janice became a lot cooler after Richard took her over. Let's face it; when it came to playing Janice, the best woman for the job was a man.
You're very welcome, Richard.
(surveys wreckage around thread) Man, that was some party...is there any cake left? (sees what remains of cake plate) Rats. Oh, well, still plenty of orange juice (ladles out a cup).
(Richard sees MBM off at the door with a kiss on the cheek; band starts in on 'Unchain My Heart') See ya tomorrow, MBM.
Hmm...sounds like someone invited Spinal Tap. I like it. And that's okay, d'Snowth. Here, I saved you some cake. (hands over a piece of cake)
Dear Lord, one of those...
Oh, come on, MBM, we don't consider ourselves victims here...but don't squelch him, okay, or else you'll be hearing about it from Sara for weeks. (turns over to band stage) Hey, guys, I have a request for the next one: 'Unchain My Heart.'
Floyd: Can do, pretty lady.
Janice: Fer sure.
(scans...
Tee hee...I had a good chuckle over Richard's nightmare about Elmo (er, sorry about that, birthday boy). But I think we need to keep Elmo away from the party until it's over; it would be a bad thing if our ghost...er, guest of honor got scared to death...ooh, bad choice of words.
It's kind of...
R: Do I have another? Well, if the lady insists...if Don keeps smashing his face into the piano, he's going to have a clef palate. (this time, there is a chorus of snickers) It's a problem of note.
MN: But he wants his new song to be a smash.
R: Well, he got the smash part right. (more...
A fanmix? Sounds fun, Skeeter Muppet. And of course we're just getting warmed up...after all, this is the place to be tonight, the shindig of the year.
(ladles out a cup of punch and hands it to Richard, then ladles another cup for herself) Cheers, man, and many happy returns. (clink of...
(phone rings, MN grabs it) Yeah, hello...uh huh...uh huh...oh...okay, right, right! I'll tell them. (hangs up phone)
Okay, the Mayhem's coming in to do live music, even though the party's been on for a bit. And we need to get ready to light the candles on the cake...because the guest of honor...
(gets a glass of juice, drops some orange slices in it and raises it in a toast) Hear, hear! And let's not forget Sweetums, Gillis Fraggle, the Two-Headed Monster, the Wild Impresario...ah, well, you get my drift.
And Bob McGrath had a birthday yesterday? That's cool; that would have been my...
Ah, MBM, you're as subtle as a San Francisco earthquake.
Earthquake...what does that rhyme with...ache...bake...cake! That reminds me! (runs into kitchen and brings out the birthday cake, now frosted, decorated and adorned with candles) Here it is, guys, in all its glory. And those balloons...
Oh, good grief, Sara's sick, and on this day of days? God clearly has a sense of humor. I'll save you some cake.
I swung by Find a Grave and left a message for Richard. I also gave him a bouquet of forget-me-nots.
So Richard is buried in the cemetery at St. John the Divine? That's nice; maybe the next time I'm in the city I'll try to stop by. And it's nice to see that you can leave little tribute notes on the Find a Grave site; I think I'll do that later on.
Guys, I mentioned on the RHLC that I was...
Why, thank you, MBM. And relax, there are no nuts at all in the cake. But there are plenty of nuts on this forum...and the guy we're honoring tomorrow is one of the biggest nuts there is, Lord love him.
Far be it from me to trigger a fellow RHLC-er's digital allergies; I'm allergic to pop-ups...
