Yeah, they're cracking the whip around here. I mean, we're only four weeks in and one of my profs is already mentioning midterms. Ouch...:boo:
I think it's going to start lightening up a bit...and I hope it does...'cause let's face it, I don't think anyone in here likes the thought of Richard...
(listening to conversation)
MN: Yeah, Sara, we call it the Stupid Bowl where I come from. For the last several years when it's been on, I've usually been in my room doing homework.
Nora: Loud and clear. But some of my cousins are bowl maniacs.
Storyteller: (scribbling on paper) ...a yearly...
Yeah...but I think part of it is my brain reacting to the weight of ten million assorted deadlines; English majors do not lead cushy existences here.
It was just kind of haunting...and a tad creepy, now that I come to think of it. :concern:
Ah, excellent, excellent. It aired when I was a little kid; I don't remember it, but Mom keeps saying that she pretty much cracked up over it. I'd like to see that some time.
On a more somber note...I had a sorta-Muppet-related dream recently, but it's kind of depressing...and it involved a...
My mom keeps mentioning a skit they did with a pencil, and one of them waves the pencil like a conductor's baton. I wish they'd post that.
Must have been fun watching Jerry and Richard go through the paces on the set.
I've been a little hesitant to mention this one, 'cause it's kinda depressing and the Muppets themselves aren't seen in it. But it is Muppet-related, so here goes.
As I recall, the dream involved a gray day and an ice-covered pond, and a bunch of voices (but no people) singing "Just One...
A great quote, compliments of you-know-who.
Now, unfortunately, it seems that a lot of kids' shows really don't stress things like cooperation and understanding and things like that. Come to think of it, they really don't stress good writing and dialogue either, but that's another matter...
Storyteller: Ah, lots of medical incidents around here; Kathy's back and Bryan's novocaine dose has worn off and...Kathy's back??
MN: I could have sworn I heard someone hobbling into room 6.
Storyteller: Well what are you waiting for? Where's that bread pudding you were going to make for her...
MN: Finally, another week gone.
Storyteller: Erin...
MN: Yes, Storyteller?
Storyteller: You promised you would take it easier this semester, and for what?
MN: I might have promised that I would take it easier, but my professors and editors sure as heck didn't.
Nora: She's got a point, you know...
Yeah, we only see what they sorted out in the editing room. Of course...it's also a difficult time keeping the adults focused and entertained, the way I see it.
Nora: Shoulda made sure Kathy was in first. Oh, well.
MN: Don't feel bad.
Nora: But that bread pudding won't keep long...
MN: So? We can have this batch, and I can whip up another. We have the technology.
Storyteller: It was snowing outside...but, oh, dear, it seems to have stopped.
MN: Rats...
I have a habit of losing jewelry too; it's one of the reasons I don't have pierced ears; I'd just lose the earrings. (Main reason for not getting pierced is my fear of needles.)
The only jewelry I wear on a regular basis is my college ring. I have a few other pieces (like the cross necklace I...
Let's see...I didn't join the forum until late last February, so I don't think I ever met Amy. But it sounds like she would have been fun to know, judging from what you guys have said.
So Richard was her favorite of the Muppeteers? I wonder if, after she got let in through the Pearly Gates and...
(gang knocks on Kathy's door)
MN: Hey, Kathy, are you in? We've got you some stuff to speed the recovery along! (turns to others) You guys go first.
Nora: I got you some lavender-mint tea from the tea shop down the street from Coming Unbound.
Storyteller: One moss pack, good for reducing the...
It's been eons since I last watched Sesame Street, but I don't remember seeing any Super Grover sketches. I do, however, remember the Astro Grover computer game (it was a simple math-oriented game), as well as some of the other SS games made for Apple IIe.
Oh, yeah, and after I had my wisdom teeth yanked, I think I had oatmeal for two days straight. It's good for you, true, but I found myself yearning for some hot buttered toast or some cold cereal.
MN: Man, those brownies went quickly.
Storyteller: Mm-hmm, and the Fraggles tore into the radish bars like they were possessed.
Nora: Party mix is all gone...but I did see some people running around with steam coming out of their mouths.
MN: Ah, well, c'est la vie. Say, didja hear that Kathy...
