I got a good chuckle out of it. Wembley's itching for some new Italian designer duds, and Gobo's got a yen (so to speak) for some shabu shabu and a couple of jars of sake...
My favorite scene was with Richard as the type-A director, natch...and it seemed he was flirting a bit with Mokey. She...
Ouch! Wow, Kathy, you're really having a time in the aches and pains department these days. First your toenail, then your tooth, now your ankle - I hope that it isn't your hamstring next; I've pulled mine a few times and it hurts like crazy.
If your ankle's still hurting, you might want to...
I'm sure he does appreciate all the things we've talked about. And you know, we've seen Jerry Nelson and Terry Angus and Mike Quinn drop into the forum every now and then for a quick chat, so I have a pretty good feeling that if Richard and Jim were alive today, they'd come visit the forum too...
Oooh, if I went mountaineering, I think I'd choose a mountain with less homicidal goats on it. Even if they are courteous enough to place a nice springy mattress down in the foothills (or maybe a really comfy eiderdown comforter as well).
Must have been funny to watch Steve, Richard and Dave...
Yeah, the Gorch skits are the best thing on the whole set. Cantankerous old Ploobis shows another side of the usually genial Jim, and Scred has a face that only a mother (and Lily Tomlin) could love. And you've got Favog ("talk ta me") and Wisss the crater head and the others.
I don't know if...
Most of us here never met Richard while he was alive, and yet today we miss him as if he was our best friend. And in a way, I suppose that's what he was for the Muppet fans: a really good friend.
Rest in peace, Richard. Keep them laughing up there, won't you?
I agree; I found the article to be quite touching...especially the paragraph that described how Richard became a little more spiritual after he learned that he was HIV positive. And the article also makes it quite clear that he wasn't going to let the virus take him out without a fight...
Yeah, where Richard is, he doesn't have to worry about his immune system taking a beating anymore. And I'll bet he's really popular with the kids up in heaven.
I'd love to see what the puppetry journal wrote about him.
I gave us number 3000? Cool!
Nora: So when do classes start up?
MN: A week from Monday. Three English, one history and an art course. This plus work at the paper. And I've got my schedule arranged so that I can get a little more sleep this semester.
Nora: I'm taking a course on 19th century British literature.
Storyteller...
Sat down and watched the Best Of disc a few times. Liked the Harry Belafonte and Linda Ronstadt episodes; thought the John Denver episode was so-so. Favorite sketches were Day-O, Turn the World Around, Blue Bayou, The Cat Came Back and the scenes in which Linda and Scooter are trying to find...
(crash in the kitchen)
Nora: (startled) What was that?
MN: I knocked the teapot lid onto the floor. (mutters something under her breath)
Storyteller: You clumsy girl, don't you realize the dangers of leaving breakable objects so close to the edge of the counter?
MN: Yeah, well, I do now. And...
"You are all weirdoes!" No, wait, that would be Frank, in the guise of Sam the Eagle. :attitude:
Richard would probably just have a good solid laugh over this thread. ;)
While I was in the music store last night, I unearthed a copy of The Best of the Muppet Show - the one with the Harry...
Nora: I heard something about Kathy having a bad tooth or something.
MN: Yeah, a rather painfully-positioned molar which will probably require the services of an oral surgeon.
Storyteller: Dear, dear. Might I recommend a moss pack and some rockbeetle nest tea. It's the best thing for a...
Yeah, the flash can be annoying - especially when it makes your pupils contract and causes little spots to dance before your eyes. But it does kind of make the paint glow a bit, so there you go.
All right, connection worked.
"C'mon, Marlon's got my stretch limo double-parked out front!" (mimics R.H.'s director voice and persona) Richard, sweetie, honey, that last take was boffo. And he was flirting a bit with Mokey...
Boober's quite the prima donna in those clips...and he does sound...
Then let me help push us along to 200 and 3000. You're a popular man, Mr. Hunt...
I started to watch part one, but the connection's been so abominably slow today. I shall try again now.
Ergh, don't mention the string-and-doorknob treatment. I routinely got threatened with that during my loose tooth days. It never happened; the grown-ups were just teasing, but geez Louise...
Although, when I was six, I was jumping around in a moonwalk and a friend accidentally shoved me (not...
I was visiting my family in New Jersey. For din, we had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding (repeat of Christmas dinner), and then we sat around, goofed off, watched the Simpsons and played Scrabble until it was time to drop the ball.
Right as the ball dropped, one of my uncles went outside and...
(holds up garbage pail lid; tomato splats on it) Ick. I never did like raw tomatoes, be they ripe or rotten.
Getting the molar out should help. My wisdom teeth were starting to bother me in the months before my operation. Getting in the way of my chewing and all that.
You can't help being a...
