Scooter: (singing) "The searches all say she'd have made Whitefish Bay if she'd put fifteen more miles behind her..."
Beige: Boober says that song makes him seasick.
Scooter: Good thing he wasn't with us when we did "Sea Chantey" on the Muppet Show - we ended up capsizing.
Nora: We missed you...
Erin: (glances at watch) Guys, I've got a meeting to run to, so can I ask you guys to run the cake and the presents over to the Count?
Others: Sure.
(Nora, Scooter, Beige and Storyteller depart with the presents and the cake, as Erin heads off to the meeting)
Storyteller: Yes...yes, this would be perfect. (examines a framed poster with all sorts of numerals - Roman, Arabic, etc. all over it) Let's see...the others should be back soon. (looks up at the sound of singing in the hallway) Oh, goodness, are they still singing that song?
Scooter...
Erin: "And the lake, it is said, never gives up her dead, when the skies of November turn gloomy..."
Beige: Cheerful little tune - what's it called?
Erin: "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," by Gordon Lightfoot. Kim was singing it earlier.
Scooter: "Oh, the ship was the pride of the American...
It did - and the panelists' responses also cleared up some of my concerns over whether to start the job hunt or go on to graduate school. One of them said he'd like to get rid of journalism schools entirely; a good reporter, he said, simply needs a good education and experience with a newspaper...
Yeah, I watched the Season 3 overview, and a bunch of the interviews and all that. Really interesting stuff - and funny, too! Even my mom, who's not really a Fraggle fan, took an interest in the behind-the-scenes stuff. I'd really sit down and watch all the episodes - but my professors were...
Erin: So, tell me, what have I missed?
Nora: Well, I think Ed's trying to get Bryan to reduce Cookie Monster's sentence...
Scooter: And Gonzo boiled the pool, and Red was mad at him...
Beige: And Sam's trying to join the Birdkateers...and he's finding that it's not what he expected.
Storyteller...
Wow - it's amazing how much I miss when I'm away for the weekend.
Ah, Placido Flamingo. He's certainly not shy about showing off his vocal skills, I'll give him credit for that. And I agree - he works on two levels. He entertains the children and teaches them about opera, and he amuses the...
Interesting Muppet-related dream last night, and it was in two parts.
In the first part, I was on the set of Fraggle Rock watching the gang do "The Rock Goes On," as seen in the documentary. And I saw Richard working with his puppets...and this time I think he saw me.
In the second part...
Storyteller: (sigh) The others say it's okay, that he's all forgiven. They sent me up to make it five out of five. (pause) I guess I kind of took this morning the wrong way.
(back at room 7)
Scooter: So they've got him on a cookies-free diet for a whole week?
Beige: Wow - but, Bryan's the...
Scooter: Tell me more about your uncle.
Nora: Uncle Brad? Well, he got into an accident when he was a teenager. But that didn't stop him from being reckless and all that.
Scooter: I see.
Nora: They used to call him No-Brakes Brad.
Scooter: I'm feeling great! (says this with trademark arm flex)
Nora: We heard that your dad's been injured, so we came by to check in.
Scooter: Let's see...wow, a wheelchair...but at least he's alive, and he's able to give you rides.
Nora: You know, one of my uncles is in a wheelchair. He used...
Scooter: (looking up) Sounds like Rosita's upset.
Nora: Yeah, her dad got hurt pretty badly. Let's go and check in on her.
(meanwhile)
Erin: (outside Storyteller's hut) Storyteller, come on, we don't like seeing you angry. Why don't you go forgive Cookie Monster? He was just doing what he...
Erin: I'll get it. (opens door) Oh, hi guys, come on in...no, we've gotten it all cleaned up, don't worry.
Scooter: So what's going on with Cookie Monster?
Erin: Locked in the bedroom? Poor guy...but don't worry, we're not angry at him.
Scooter: Er...well, at least most of us aren't.
Nora...
(night before)
(door to Erin's room creaks open ever so slightly)
Scooter: Is he gone?
Nora: Don't know. I don't hear anything.
Beige: Wow, look at all those cookie crumbs.
Storyteller: (weeping) They're all over the carpet...
Erin: I don't see him - looks like his roommates reined him in...
Nora: Wait a minute - Scooter, did you lock the cabinet that's got all those Girl Scout cookies in them?
Scooter: Uh...no.
Storyteller: You mean we have a full cabinet of Girl Scout cookies and no one mentioned it until now?
Erin: (sigh) Or rather...we had a full cabinet of Girl Scout cookies...
Scooter: RUN!
(Erin seizes Storyteller and Beige - but not before Beige grabs a pan of cranberry-orange-chocolate chip cookies - and runs into her room with them. Scooter and Nora run in after her, and triple-bolt the door.)
Storyteller: Oh, dear, oh dear...the kitchen's going to be a...
Nora: Aw, thanks, guys. I'll pass the compliments along to the others.
(meanwhile)
Erin: Update on the cranberry-orange ones?
Scooter: They're starting to brown at the edges.
Erin: Okay, they'll be ready to pull when the timer goes off.
Storyteller: (scooping batter for next pan) Hmm...the...
It's true - on one episode of "I Love the 70s," one commentator was making cracks about how you could see the Muppets' arm rods and all that. But for us, that's all part of the fun - as is seeing the occasional Muppet performer's head.
I do like Beige Fraggle - he just wants to do the right thing, and he really wants to help Mokey out, even though he is the line-toeing security Fraggle. He also reminds me a bit of Scooter - but that's mainly because Richard plays them both, I suppose. ;)
(and did anyone notice how the...
