Oh, OK, I see what happened, thanks to the wiki: Brian left after season 15, and Follow That Bird was filmed after that season but didn't premiere until after the 16th season. So, while the movie was the first thing that Marty filmed as Telly, it wasn't the first thing aired.

Something I just realized, and most of you probably knew this already but, Follow That Bird had to have been Marty P. Robinson's first performance as Telly, as it was filmed in between seasons 16 and 17 and Brian Muehl left the show after the 16th season.

Interestingly, Caroll didn't get to work with them that often but I think Big Bird tends to work well with almost any character you pair him with.

I love Ernie and Bert and i've grown to love them more and more as I get older. But Frank and Jim have had so many great duos that it's hard to pick a second favorite. Piggy and Kermit, Kermit and Cookie, Kermit with Fozzie, Grover and Kermit, the list goes on.
