Does Sesame Street still air classic segments?

To some degree we're all a little biased for the era we grew up watching. For me it was the Unpaved years. For others, it might be the Around The Corner era. Some may swear by the current format. I've come to grips the show is not the same (and can't be) like it originally was, and now I'm...

R.I.P 'The Waltons' Patriarch Ralph Waite

Back in the 70's, "The Waltons" and "Little House on the Prairie" were tv staples. Both shows focusing on God and family, we can use a touch of that today.

    RIP Sid Caesar

He was also brilliant starring with a cast of thousands in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". Now he's gone to that great "W" in the sky. At least Mickey Rooney is still with us.

Do we still have disposable cameras, or did we throw them all away?

    Questions about anything

I actually got a refund check for one cent. Yes, ONE CENT! Now here's the dilemma, how to make the most of this unexpected windfall. Will it put me in a higher tax bracket? Should I invest in a diversified portfolio? Or should I go down to Atlantic City and blow it on a penny slot?

    Questions about anything

Crappy boy bands with nice haircuts are nothing new. Back in 1967, The Who and Jimi Hendrix won the crowds over at the Monterey Pop Festival. Then The Who spent the rest of the summer opening up for Herman's Hermits, and Jimi Hendrix warmed up for the Monkees.

    When you need to rant...

I remember when TBS used to be the haven for all the sitcoms you couldn't find on the networks. Kinda like a precursor to TVLand. They had a few staples like the Brady Bunch and Happy Days, but for a while they also had a block of Gomer Pyle, Jeannie, Bewitched, without running them into the...

    When you need to rant...

North or South, what's the deal? At the first sign of snow everybody rushes to the store and hoards up on milk, bread, and eggs. Are that many people making French toast?

    R.I.P. Pete Seeger

One of the gutsiest things he ever did was appearing on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and singing an anitwar song "Waist Deep In the Big Muddy", where he practically calls President Johnson a pig. I wonder if anyone could get away with that today.

Long Shot: Is this you? William Paterson Live

Did it seem to you Frank was a little cranky that night? He really looked like he didn't want to be there, he didn't want to answer questions, he didn't want to interact with the others, blah blah blah... Such a shame, after the standing ovation he got blew the roof off.

No, you got your bearings straight. Progresso is soup, Progressive is insurance, and Prego is spaghetti sauce.

Long Shot: Is this you? William Paterson Live

I was there too! I was a little miffed. During the Q&A, I was next on line with a question. I was about to open my mouth when it was announced "Sorry! That's all the time we have for questions!" Dang me. Michael Davis did come back out and signed my book, and Sonia Manzano posed for a picture...

    Sesame Street Overload!

Way back in the 70's, Sears had a line of Sesame plush. This was in the ancient days when they actually had a toy department, as well as publishing their annual Christmas catalog, the holy Wish Book. Their plush Cookie was halfway decent, Grover was okay, but Big Bird was a yellow nightmare.

Super Bowl XLVIII: Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks

Seattle's defense stopped in 49ers in their tracks (more turnovers in the second half than the Niners gave up all season), so this game should not be boring. The only thing I'm steering clear of, since I live aboput 15 miles from MetLife Stadium, is the traffic nightmare you'll see next...

does anyone here have annoying family members ? and if so how do you deal with them ?

I know in this economy it can be a financial strain to move out. But I would hate to come home every day to a toxic environment where you can't find any peace.Which is the lesser of the two evils? For you?

does anyone here have annoying family members ? and if so how do you deal with them ?

Moving out might be hard, but not impossible. I moved out when I was 19 to get away from my alcoholic father. It meant busting my butt to live on my own, living on a shoestring budget for a while, but for the freedom and peace of mind, it was worth it. If you can't have a peaceful co-existence...

    Surprising Celebrity Ages

40 years ago almost to the day "Good Times" made its debut. Jimmie Walker was 27 playing a teenage J.J., while John Amos, who played his father, was only 10 years older than him. (But Esther Rolle was 20 years older than HIM!) Still, I thnk the greatest gap between an actor's age and the role...

Your Thoughts on Madonna saying the "N-Word"

She charmed the pants off Dick Clark first time she was on "American Bandstand". She said her ambitions were "to dominate the world and be rich". Great. What can you do for an encore?

    Questions about anything

Ted Knight was often typecast as a pompous windbag: Ted Baxter on "Mary Tyler Moore", Judge Smails in "Caddyshack", and having to deal with Jm J. Bullock in "Too Close For Comfort".
